Who has done this one? I searched the forum and didn’t really find much, especially recent. I was able to book this one and it was our top choice. I’m curious if this is going to be good for my kids. We are new to cruising (I went twice in the 90s as a teen) and so excited!

I am assuming you mean this excursion: ST32: Kayak, hike and snorkel of Cas Cay

We did this in early Dec 2019 and had a great time. Make sure you have tons of sunblock as there is not much shade. The only issue we had was that DD (9 at the time) was not into snorkeling and it was very tough for me to head out and enjoy some snorkeling while leaving her to look at shells with others in the group that chose not to snorkel. It was my first snorkeling experience and saw some cool creatures. I think the neatest thing we saw was a small octopus in the shallows during the hike portion.

It is hard to describe how strenuous the excursion was. It required some effort, but not a crazy amount. We did not preorder any of the food prior to heading out on the water, although it looked pretty tasty. I think we went back the ship and just managed to slip into lunch at Royal Palace and then walked back out to do the Skyride up to Paradise Point.

Enjoy your excursion!

Was swimming required? My 10yo and myself are unlikely to really snorkel. We may try but I don’t go underwater and he’s a new swimmer.

I think that you have to step out of the kayak in the water where the landings are for the hiking and snorkeling, but no swimming is required. The kayaks are pretty easy to keep upright. The guides were very helpful to keep things balanced while getting into and out of the kayaks.

We did this about 6 years ago. It was a great tour, even though I do not like to snorkel. My DH enjoyed that while I had some sun time on the shore. The hike was just a short walk, and the kayaking was fun. I think there were a few others that did not go snorkeling also.
