Kate's Back on Track Journal - comments welcome

Hi Kate,

I'm sending you some :wizard: for the week ahead. Just be sure and take it step by step and day by day and you'll do just fine! :goodvibes

I love that picture in your signature! :thumbsup2

Have a great week! :sunny:

I hope week 2 of your detox went well and you made it through your week at work reasonably intact. :wizard:

I am definitely keeping the Gingersnap stew in my rotation. I love soups. They are so easy to prepare and generally healthy too. But we have another couple of months before it gets "cold" (high less than 70) around here, and I can make soups on a regular basis.

All right, survived a LOOOOOOOONG work week, and did good with the eating, not so good on the exercise, and am UP on the scale. :sad2:

I'm trying a new program, but am giving myself time to get used to it. Still watching points, but also tracking fiber and exercising 3 times a day for shorter time periods. I'll give it some time and see if this does anything.

Now to visit the journals, :surfweb: as I've been missing for a while!

I'm glad your back! :cool1: Keep us updated on the new eating/workout program. I can use all the help I can get!

Kate, its in the air, many of us are starting new programs! I'll be interested in how your more frequent, shorter workouts go. I have toyed with that too since so often I have 10-15 minutes but not 45-60. I guess I could just get my own butt in gear and see how it goes personally though! Don't worry about the scale, what goes up, must come down!

Glad to see you back Kate! Good Luck with the new program. Exercising 3X per day? Wow! I am still trying to fit it in once a day. I'm sure the scale will come back down. :cheer2:

I'm sorry to hear the scale is not cooperating. I know mine will get kicked back into the closet once I weigh myself after this trip... Definitely let us know how the 3x a day thing works! Sounds interesting!

Hi Kate,

Glad you're back! :goodvibes That's great that you are starting a new program. Please let us know how it goes. :goodvibes

Keep on keeping on, Kate. You CAN and you WILL do this! :cheer2:

Have a great Thursday! :sunny:

Hi Kate
Hope the new programme works for you :)
Have a great weekend
Tracey

I hate when that happens! (At least I'm not the only one.) Sending pd your way - pixiedust:

Kate your post and one I did yesterday that was lost are out in cyber space together I guess! Hate it when that happens. Hope you are having a great weekend!

Amy

Hi all, a happy weekend to you!

Spent a little time last night down by the river, watching all the paddle-wheel boats that are in town for our Tall Stacks festival. Took DD (11) with me, my parents had given us some free tickets for last night and today. DH is going this afternoon with DD (13) who played soccer this morning. I'm working a few hours this afternoon.

Well, the new program is not working as I'd hoped, in fact I've not even maintained, but gone up even more!! To be fair, I haven't been motived and wasn't feeling well part of the week.

Tuesday I got my weekly allergy shots, which I've done for over a year now. But for some reason this new vial really did a number on my arm. :guilty:  It was hot and swollen, and I did all the recommended things, ice pack, Benedryl, Advil, etc. but over a day later it was STILL achy. It finally did clear up, but it made me feel blah and tired for a few days. On top of that the weather turned instantly to fall now, highs in the 50's and gloomy some days. I just didn't feel like moving my body!!

DS 17 took the car yesterday to go to a friend's house, with a few of his other buddies, said he had a surprise for me and he'd be home by dinner. OK.
He gets home, comes in the house with the friends, they're all laughing, he is wearing his beanie, pulls it off ------ he had shaved his head! Oh well, I guess it will grow back.
His younger sisters thought it was funny, older sister (21) hates it and told him he looks like a cancer patient. (Wasn't that sweet of her !?) :sad2:

gotta get to work, but I'll try to stop by some journals for a quick hi.

Sorry about the bad reaction to the allergy shot. That's happened to me in the past. Not fun.

At least DS didn't do anything permanent. His hair will grow back. What possessed him to shave it off?

The paddle boat thing sounds really neat. :3dglasses

Hope the weekend weather clears up some and you are feeling better too. :sunny:

Hi Kate,

I hope that you're feeling better soon. That allergy shot sounds like it really hurt! :(

I hope you get some warmer weather this weekend. We're due for sunny and 70 here in Ohio tomorrow. :sunny: Gotta enjoy those days while we can get them cause we know that snow is just around the corner.

Have a great weekend! :sunny:

Wow, that is really weird to have a reaction after getting the same shots for a year. Hopefully you won't have to deal with that again! :wizard:

OMG, the things I get to look forward to with teenagers. At least he didn't get a tattoo, right?!? :lmao: My DS10 painted his fingernails with DD7 last night, plus put glitter lip gloss on. He then asked me how to get the nail polish off and I said he had to use nail polish remover and that we didn't have any and he'd have to go to school like that. The horrified look on his face was priceless! :rotfl:

Hang in there! I hope you get into the "it's winter" mindset soon and adjust to the weather patterns.

Hope you got over the 'shot'!
Very brave of your DS to shave his head!!!
Like you say - it will grow back, he should have done it in the summer!!!
Love the pic of the paddle boat, you always seem to have lots of intersting stuff going off where you live :)

Another busy week with work, and no progress on the weight, so I've not been very motivated!!

Eating has been ok, but not much exercise to speak of, have done a lot of walking, but last time I ran my knee started hurting, so I've given it a rest.

Jane, thanks, I'm ok now. My allergies are so much in control, that's how I know the shots are working.
But I go again tomorrow, NOT looking forward to that.

Tracy, been meaning to ask, where are you located in Ohio? I'm down here near Cincinnati (well, the south side - Kentucky actually )

Anna, DS was filming a movie with his buddies (he does that - makes short films - just for fun) and they thought this would make a good thing to have on film!

Amy, he had to do something different, his older sister (21) already did the tattoo thing! I wasn't very pleased about that, but she's the one has to live with it!

Tracey, there are lots of fun things around here, but I've always wanted to travel across the way where you are, see all the sites like Amy just did!
