Kate's Back on Track Journal - comments welcome

Sounds like you had a wonderful night with your DD.

Sorry your older DD's first flight experience was so lousy. Hopefully the return flight was better. With DH's travel schedule, my kids have been flying since they were babies. They have gotten very nonchalant about the whole thing.

You are doing a great job with your eating and your running. The scale will definitely go back down. :woohoo:

OMG, an entire week has gone by!!?? :confused3

Work has been busy, the kids started back to school, things are just crazy here.

No loss on the weight, but no gain, so that's Ok.

Last week was fun with the ice cream movie night. I especially like spending time one on one with the kids now and then. We do things as a group, or with 2 or 3 of them, but they don't get that individual time as much.

DH and DD got back fine, she loved the flying except for the delays!

This week youngest DD has a friend spending the night, they are pretend camping - sleeping in the back yard in our tent! Should be fun, unless I have to tell them to quiet down and not bother the neighbors!

Guess I better make the round of the journals. :sunny:

Well done on not gaining :)
Hope life gets less hectic for you now!!!
When my DD has friends over its always VERY noisy, i have to remind myself to chill a bit & not get on at them so much, i was young once!!!!!

Those movie ice cream nights sound like a blast. :Pinkbounc Glad you're finding time to hang out with your kids individually. That's always tough. Great job on not gaining any weight.

Good job not gaining. The kids school schedules are wrecking havoc on my routine. I can't imagine juggling 4 plus work :worship: . Glad DD enjoyed her flying experience and hope youngest DD (and you :rotfl2: ) have a great time with the camping. It is such fun to camp in the backyard :thumbsup2 .

Hi Tracey, Jane, Anna, thanks for the encouragement. Hope you're all doing well.

Glad you had a good run. Your meals always look so good. I'll have to put pork loin on the menu. It sounds yummy right now. :sunny:

You are doing great staying within your points and getting your workouts in. I hope that scale moves down for you next week, you deserve a loss after all that hard work! :wizard:

:sunny: Kate you're doing a good job with your workouts and food! Way to go with the jogging! :sunny:

I've got to get all caught up on how you are doing but from looking at this page you are doing great!

Sounds like you're still doing well, Kate. Your ice cream night sounds like fun.

Have a great rest of the week!!

Running 4.25 miles in an hour is fun?????
I'll take your word for it :)
I can walk for miles, but if i ran i think i could do some serious damage from 2 things bouncing about too much!!!!

Well, another week of eating just ok, but WI today back to 134.4, so that's fine.

Originally wanted to go camping this weekend, but plans didn't work out. Good thing as it has rained off and on all week, things are pretty wet.

We'll hang around here, grill, relax, and on Sunday they have the annual fireworks.

It is a big deal, this is the 30th anniversary. 30 years ago (when DH and I first knew each other, weren't even dating yet) this local radio station started advertising that they were going to sponsor a fireworks display coordinated to music, and set it up on the river. (I live right across the river from Cincinnati, Ohio, in Kentucky) They expected maybe several hundred people to show up. Well, the crowd that first year was nearly 100,000! They made it an annual event, and now it is a HUGE thing every year. People go down to the flood walls and parks on both sides of the river, plus there are hills overlooking both sides and it is such fun. They have several large barges in the river where they set the fireworks, and the display lasts about 45 minutes, to a compilation of rock music.

We normally watch from DS's high school, which sits high up on a hill overlooking the river, they get thousands of people there, it is a festival atmosphere all day.

Anyhow, hope everyone has a good weekend!

Tracey, running is fun for me! I do have some pretty sturdy sports bras!!
Julie, thanks for hosting the Sept. exercise challenge. I need the encouragement this time of year as the weather cools.
Hi gradtchr!!
Hi Jane and Amy and Anna:wave2:

I love fireworks! What a fun way for your town to end the summer. pixiedust:

That is a cool tradition! We don't have anything like that here. Of course we can barely have fireworks for the 4th of July without burning the state down... :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Great news on the weigh-in, your eating must not have been that bad! :thumbsup2

The fireworks sound fantastic!!!
Hope you had a great time :)
I love your pic of the toyota fireworks! Have you been? When were the fireworks?

Sunday was the fireworks, and Monday we ended up going to Kings Island, a big amusement park here. It was fun, youngest DD went on her first roller coaster and survived!! :rotfl2:

She's a chicken when it comes to rides, and it was a big deal for her to do that. Fun day, a bit chilly weather, fall is definitely coming.

food today was ok, I'll post later. But I went into the office today since we were off yesterday, so two days in a row with no running or real exercise to speak of.

The fireworks are fun, and a nice tradition here.

Tracey, the picture is from this same event last year. WEBN is the local radio station that started the Riverfest, Toyota has been a co-sponsor for several years now. The pic is one of the bridges that crosses from Kentucky to Ohio, and you can see some of the many boats that hang out to enjoy the display.

Hope everyone else had a nice holiday! :sunny:

What a perfect way to celebrate Labour Day weekend! Congrats to DD for conquering her fear of rides!! I still remember the day I first went on roller coasters. It will likely be a day that she won't forget either.

No doubt you'll get back into that exercising. I'm still trying to get into running! Have a great week. :sunny:

I haven't been to Kings Island in AGES! We are going to Cedar Point next year when we visit my family in MI. DD7 has finally broken the 48" barrier and she is dying to go on the big roller coasters. Both my kids are adrenaline junkies like me, I love it!

I hope you get a chance to get a workout in soon!
