Yes, the kids who had problems are the ones we remember. Not many lists out there for the ones who made it the past 40 years of shows and do well. Prob not much interest. No way of knowing how many would have had problems if they weren't in show business . Certainly having money for some of these kids was a downfall. I can actually think of a few more that on the list (as well as some of those who were successful).

Drew Barrymore had very early problems.

I didn't get that when the mentioned the sleeping bags. Wasn't the original arrangement that the kids stayed in the house and Jon and Kate rotated out? Did that all change when he sued for custody? I thought that was a very smart decision, but of course, Kate couldn't be in control when she wasn't around and Jon was bringing over girlfriends.

Jon stays with the kids at the house, while Kate is gone. But Jon must get the kids at his place, when Kate is home and it is his custody days. Kate probably complained and she said she hated leaving the house for Jon and checking into the local hotel/motel. It's sort of surprising how Kate has eventually gets what she wants.

You should read Prairie Tale. Melissa Gilbert talks about her drug abuse, alcoholism and sexual promiscuity. Did Candace Cameron battle anorexia? Nancy McKeon? Was that Jo on Facts of Life? Blossom... she was living a "normal" life for so long. She avoided the substance stuff I guess and is obviously intelligent. She is a bit odd though with her potty trained infants and attachment parenting. That industry has not historically been kind to children.
IMO I don't think the Gosselin kids can necessarily be compared to child actors. The reality stuff is kind of unchartered territory. They don't get to play a character or go home from the set.

This post seems so out of place on this thread that it made me chuckle.

I didn't watch but sometimes you can google it, there are always people commenting on what people wear and where they got it.

I think that Alyssa Milano has had a pretty normal life for a child star.

What was Tim Allen's show with his wife Jill and the 3 boys.
The oldest son got into drugs and alcohol and I think the youngest did too.
Don't know if the middle son did, but he got into movies and was the voice of Simba on Lion King. Now you don't hear anything about any of them, except Tim Allen and his commercials for Michigan. I want to throttle the radio station I listen to. They play the Michigan commercial constantly.

I see where the younger boy married someone at 17 much older than him he met while in college. He dropped out and started a vegan business with her. That didn't go well, and he fought his parents for his money. He is now divorced, and is back speaking with his parents saying they were right when they tried to protect him from this woman. It sounds like his ex wife didn't realize he couldn't get to most of his money right away. They didn't mention drugs in the articles. Hopefully he is back on the right path.

Oooh yeah. She got a dui with her kids in the car not too long ago. Kids and showbiz can be an okay combo with VERY dilligent parents who make sure they are grounded and have a sense of normalcy. Their parents also have to be their absolute advocates, and the kids really (imo) shouldn't be the family's sole source of income. Do the Gosselins do this stuff? The Gosselin kids just have had so much crap that is public...no pun intended.

I think it depends on who's opinion it is LOL.

Kate earned a lot on DWTS, but because she would never have been there without the kids, some believe that isn't really her earnings. K & J were also on the 8+ show, and got paid, but again, since she would not have had the show without the kids, some think that money too is theirs. The books were about the kids, so I guess some would think that is their money too. So are the G kids the family's sole source of income? I thnk the parents worked too, so I don't think so.

I haven't seen the paps talking about Kate putting out lots of the kids money to buy stuff..most of what she has, the clothes, the hair, etc as well as the trips are part of the show, (Kate doesn't seem to jet all around, for trips for herself, just work. I haven't seen her off having fun without the kids) so all we can do is hope that she is saving the money to support them all, once the kids/family show is done, and that they were being honest when they said the kids have sizeable accounts, which will cover college costs.

I guess that means she isn't doing much of anything that will be bought by the rags. Wonder if she's just too boring. I especially liked the one that was posted last year, with her and Steve in the airport, insinutating that there was something going on between them, that is was just the two of them. Then someone in the airport, on one of the nicer boards, posted her photo that she had taken with her cellphone, and there was a second bodyguard (the African American guy that we often see) with them holding onto a pice of luggage. He was cropped out of all the paps pics. It's all just a game they play.

that, or there's some truth to the rumors that TLC is in on what pictures are taken. it's probably a combination of both.

You really think TLC can control all those paps that take tons of pictures of of the G's, hoping one will sell? TLC would have to control a lot of rag mags, if that were true. Most of those guys are freelancers, and I doubt TLC can afford to pay them all off.
