~ Kate Plus Eight ~

I just had to buy People magazine last week (because kate and kids were on the cover ;)) and noticed Hannah had slimmed down quite a bit.

I'm of the opinion that she is going to be quite a stunner!

I loved last nights' shows!

I should rephrase what I meant. I meant that Hannah was always TALLER than the other kids, not necessarily heavier.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, including aidesg1. It's a discussion about a tv show. Why so hostile?

Who's being hostile?? This is a discussion board and everyone is welcome to give their opinion.

Yes, I know he does pay that out of their past earnings. So, are you saying that Kate shouldn't take jobs to keep the money flow? I don't get where you are going with that. I don't imagine that support money fund he is paying from (reportedly) will last forever.

well, it takes the 'I do it all alone and pay for it all alone' spiel down a notch. That is her hook, but it's not entirely true is it?

There will never be enough for Kate. And those kids will be on tv earning for her until something forces the end of the show. And yes, i would rather they lived in a box by the side of the road with loving parents than rich and their lives displayed on tv for fame-seeking parents.

The hair extensions:

They REALLY looked bad close up. Yes!!!! They were horrid. However, he was attaching them to hair that probably 1 1/2" to 2" long!!! So they were "stand up and out from her head. That is why the back of her head looked like a old used Barbie doll go bad! LMBO

Probably why they redid them as her hair grew out. :)

I only saw the end of the 1st show and tivoed the 2nd.

Made me want to go to Discovery Cove. :)

You're assuming that Jon actually does pay what he has been ordered to pay. The court would not have assigned that number if his assets didn't allow it.

I don't understand why people have such a problem with her making money. Would it be okay if she was working 9-5, being away from the kids daily and struggling to make ends meet? Sounds like a lot of judgement and jealousy.

More power to her if she can afford that lifestyle.

Jon is paying Kate. You can't assume he is not with no proof either. It's the same story everytime. Everything bad about Jon is true, and nothing bad about Kate is true.

She can make all the money she wants if she could just not sell her kid's lives to do it.

In the past, Hannah was a bit taller and a bit fuller than the other tups.

She appears to have thinned down, while the others seem to have caught up with her, height wise. I love her long hair.

The kids are all so gorgeous! :goodvibes

Me too!

Who else if sick of seeing and hearing about the Gosselin family?

Bingo! I just can't believe that they won't let this series die. Next thing the twins won't be filmed and the name will be changed to Kate plus 6. I can't believe people have the mindset that if you have 8 kids, you have to be a celebrity to survive. Large families struggle and survive everyday. Is this family so different? They live in a beautiful mansion in PA. Its unfortunate that their mother has alienated the majority of family and friends but the kids have each other and thats will have to make up for their fame seeking mother!

Jon pays 22,000 a month in child support. And if he weren't Kate would be on the Today show telling everyone.

Where is Jon getting $22,000 per month? Does he have an actual job?

Wow--1st post and you know everything?? How do you know Jon isn't helping off camera? He's paying $22,000 a month in child support, etc... does that not count for anything?? Read the Jon & Kate thread and you will see everyone is entitiled to their opinion!:confused3

The judge set aside that $$ during the divorce to go to the kids support- I do not believe Jon is "paying" it (as in he's working and contributing- he's contributing from what they had already made).

I enjoyed the specials last night. It was nice to see the kids again and WOW have they grown-up. I loved seeing them at Discovery Cove and Kate seemed more relaxed than she has been in the past.

For me Mady whining just seemed normal. She has a lot of issues that I think she would have regardless of cameras being there or not.

I also liked seeing more of what Kate goes through and it defineately showed me a new side of her.

jon is still under contract with TLC. They have said so. Jon agreed to let the kids be filmed and TLC is paying him for that. Is that 'working'? Does it matter? It's an income. He has plenty of money too. I don't think he has cried poor lately.

Interesting.

Jon has to be under contract with TLC. He is sure keeping quiet. If he wasn't I bet he would be shouting from the highest mountain top about how he was treated by Kate and TLC. That guy or anyone that was ever close with Kate (not many) could make millions telling the true story of Kate!;)

Kate said, "When work comes my way I do it so I can literally put food on the table and send my kids to school."

if Kate says that she has to work to literally put food on the table, then (IMO) she needs to take a serious look at her finances and make changes. That's a pretty drastic statement.

But the reality is, she's working to afford her lifestyle. there's a huge difference, IMO.

I liked the new show. Is this going to be a weekly thing.

No, I believe after reading as much as I could, between other message boards and TLC, that these are "specials" ... that Kate has filmed 12 one hour specials entitled "Kate Plus Eight" and that TLC will air them intermittently ... I could not find any new epi's on TLC's website through June 16th ...

I enjoyed the shows. I think the kiddos are adorable. Kate, whatever.

There is no way they could produce this show to air every week without infringing on the child labor laws. You see the finished product (not the 8 takes per scene it took to get the finished product) which means they did a lot of taping. Unless those kids are home schooled, they would have to miss mega amounts of school to fulfil one show a week. Besides who wants to watch Kate meltdown because "she does it all herself"? The next show will probably be Disneyworld because they were seen there in May. For the kids sake hopefully that will be it.

Hair extensions-When Kate first got the extensions, the hair was very long and this is when Cara had a problem with it. I think within a week, she went back and had it cut shorter. The show made it look like it was done in one day, and it wasn't. Kate even said it was to long and she didn't like how long it was.

Discovery Cove is really expensive, almost $300 a person for the day, lunch included. It was nice of Kate to take Alexis back in the morning. Kate was lucky the whole family didn't end up puking.
