Kashmir104's Couture PJ (p.1) & TR (p.28): WP/CR~1/3/09* 5/6: Highlights Video p.30

The good , the bad, and the ugly. But i absolutely loved it. Your big day will be great.

Aww thanks for reading!!! It really has been a bumpy ride, but so far everything is coming together nicely now. I'm kind of worried though... once I'm done planning this, what will I do with all my free time!?! :confused3

Courtney, I am so glad you've updated. What a wedding this will be! I love your menu, sounds amazing!!

Thanks!!! I think our guests won't need to eat for a good few days after our wedding dinner!

That menu sounds wonderful! OMG. So, since we'll be there around the same time, mind if I crash to get some yummy Couture food? :lmao:

LoL sure why not! Just sneak in the back and put on a mickey chef outfit... no one will ever notice! :thumbsup2

I starting reading this last nite and just could not stop.
Its so nice to hear that others have the love of DISNEY
that I do.

I agree , your Wedding Day is going to be absoutely wonderful.

That's one of the things I love about this board... Disney brides tend to come across those people who poke fun of their wedding being in Disney or think Disney is childish, but the people here are so supportive! It's nice to have a place where everyone feels the same way! I hope you will stick around to read more!

:goodvibes I'm so glad my PJ and trippie could give you some ideas! I always hope that something I did (or screwed up!) will be helpful to another bride because I got so much help from the DIS when I was planning. And you should totally incorporate "your color" into the Couture scheme you picked - it would be unique and personal!

hmm... white, chartreuse green, burnt orange, and turquoise for wedding colors... I kind of like it! I might actually have to think long and hard about this!

Just catching up on your report again. You posted your menu when I was still gone for my wedding, it sounds so delicious :thumbsup2 Looking forward to seeing pictures and hearing about it after your tasting this summer.

Although I haven't posted there yet, I've been following your TR like crazy! I LOVE your MK photos. They are some of the best I've seen yet. I believe you requested Paul? I'm going to do the same thing! He's probably trying to figure out the influx of requests he's been getting!!!

That was the best 4 hours of my life so far! :thumbsup2 Your wedding is going to be absolutely beautiful, and you have definately found a prince! Sorry the IL's can't be more like him! Congrats on your beautiful wedding and I look forward to reading more about it!

Jennifer

Hahaha! Thanks Jennifer! I'm glad I could entertain!!! Keep reading! I feel like the real planning is just beginning! :scared1:

This menu sounds to die for!

Thanks!!! I hope it turns out as yummy as it sounds!

The menu sound's great!!!!! Your less than a year away!!! I remember when you first started planning!!!

I know Lynn... it's almost been an entire year already! Isn't that crazy!?!? Your wedding is coming together as well! Hard to believe how quickly time flies by!

Your menu sounds so yummy and fantastic! :goodvibes

Thanks! :thumbsup2

Hi everyone!

I wanted to post a little update... I received an email from Donna at the Alpine Creative Group out of New York City to let me know that our 70 Save-the-Dates have shipped and should arrive at Eric's work tomorrow!!!! :dance3: :yay: :woohoo:  :cheer2: Can you tell how excited I am?? That means I should be able to send them out by the end of the week! YAY!!!! FINALLY!!!!

In order to send our Save-the-Dates, we needed stamps... and my cousin had the coolest stamps ever for her wedding invitations- pictures of herself and her husband (at the time, fiance) So I took our sample Save-the-Date to the post office last Friday to weigh it so I could order the correct stamp value from zazzle.com. Those suckers cost 75 cents each to ship!!! :scared1: That's a heck of a lot of money just to spend on mail! I guess it's worth it though in the end. In any case, Eric and I decided to design out own stamps and here's what we came up with:

isz-m.jpg

They actually came out FANTASTIC in person and zazzle was great about processing and shipping. They came earlier than expected!

Also, we secured Rev. Kevin Knox to be our officiant. Eric and I are both Catholic and it seemed like he would do a great job modeling that type of ceremony. Plus, it made me feel a bit better knowing he's had some great reviews.

Finally, I need your help!! After checking out lurkyloo's wedding pictures, I realized how AWESOME orange and turquoise go together... I never would've guessed, so I need your help and opinions. Should we introduce both turquoise/aqua and burnt orange into our wedding as well??

I LOVE burnt orange and the way it looks on its own with the chartreuse and white of the Simply Chic collection, but turquoise/aqua has always been my mom's and my fav color (we always buy clothes in that color because it actually looks flattering on us!) Whenever we see someone in it, we always say to each other "She's wearing our color!!"

What do you think?? Is it appropriate for a winter wedding that's in Florida? Do you think it will match our decor? Any advice welcome!!

Example ideas I found of turquoise/aqua and orange...
Cakes:
This one with green and burnt orange orchids around it... I also liked the idea of using the bottom layer to showcase places that mean something to me and Eric (Golden Gate Bridge, Santa Clara Mission outline, etc...) but I haven't thought much about cake styles just yet

Do you think it's too many colors for a wedding to have with an all white backdrop with chartreuse floral accents, burnt orange AND aqua/turquoise?? Too spring/summer? Do they clash??

I have no idea if we will go with this idea, but just trying something new and fun! Also, did you notice how the background of the reception pics kind of already have a aqua/turquoise blue glow from the ever-changing lighting? Maybe it's meant to be.... :confused3

i think it all sounds fantastic, love the second cake so simple yet makes a statement. I think the colours will go well

i like the idea to add the color- it will be beautiful against all the white!

I too love the 2nd cake, understated and elegant!

I think it all sounds fine. I love that second cake too, it definately fits your Couture wedding really well.

I think that the colors will go well with the simply chic theme.....and its definitely appropriate for a winter wedding in Florida :goodvibes

As for the cake, I'm torn between Cake #2 & #3. #2 is so chic yet I love how vibrant #3 is.

WOW! That would be absolutely fabulous! I think cake 2 really suits your couture collection "look" and it is a way to introduce your colors at the reception beautifully. I absolutely think that if you like the aqua/turquoise you MUST do it. This is your ONE big, beautiful chance to put YOUR stamp (excuse the pun) on the somewhat pre-formulated couture look.

BTW, were you able to get zazzle stamps that are $0.75 each? or will you have to use 2 41cent stamps on each envelope? Howard wants to use our original wedding picture in some way and I was thinking of using zazzle stamps for that purpose, and it would be really great if each stamp were for the right postage.

I love that second cake! If we hadn't had our Vaguely Moroccan theme, it would have been PERFECT!

Who says you can only have 2 wedding colors or 3 or whatever it is? Of course I think you should add turquoise, but if you're worried about overdoing it, have that be your Super-Secret Stealth Color. Ours was fuchsia... I didn't want a girly color to be an official wedding color, so we just worked it in as an accent, like in our invitations:

Answer is, it's your wedding so do what you want! Actually I love all the colors you've chosen and as I've had to learn since moving here, you can use any color you want all year round. ( I even wear white before Easter and after Labor Day now :scared1: ) . And your planner should have everything for you to look at so if you don't like all the colors together, you can change your mind. :) Your signature drink looks wonderful and I like cake #3. Different from every other one yet still very pretty and wedding like.

Although I haven't posted there yet, I've been following your TR like crazy! I LOVE your MK photos. They are some of the best I've seen yet. I believe you requested Paul? I'm going to do the same thing! He's probably trying to figure out the influx of requests he's been getting!!!

Thanks! Paul Looper (I just found out his last name) was so awesome to work with for the shoot. He definitely went out of his way to meet all of our requests. I highly recommend requesting him!

I love the Zazzle stamps, we did the same thing for our invitations :)
I really like the first cake. Although, I agree that some of the other ones go better with the theming, I'm more sentimental and like the idea of incorporating landmarks from places that the two of you have visited :goodvibes

You should totally add turquoise/aqua/blue! I'm convinced orange is an underrated neutral and goes with everything, especially a burnt orange. (I know you don't have to be sold on the orange, though! ;)) I think the blue would be a lovely accent color. And it is "your" color so it would be extra special for you.

I love cake #2-- so chic! Maybe you could have all your colors wrapping around? And your menu is making me hungery!

I've been following your PJ since the beginning and I can't believe it's less than a year! 2009 seemed so far in the future!

Subscribing to tell you that I think the colours look goregeous together and to tell you that I absolutely LOVE your PJ!! I would love to have a couture wedding, but it's not in the cards... (I like the Enchanted Garden one, but that's just 'cause the explosion of flowers looks cool!)

Looking forward to reading about more of your adventures!! :)

I lurked on your thread before my wedding and then I just caught up yesterday. I just wanted to chime in and let you know that I think 3 colors are fine and those three colors go GREAT together. White is... Nuetral! so I think you can go with whatever color combo you want. I would just remember the scrapbooking/trading spaces theory: gallon-quart-pint. Have a main color, have a complimentary color and then throw in a splash of something fun!! Proportion is key. ;)

Hi. I've read you're entire PJ. You are so lucky to have a David Tutera. When I get married, which is far off but still, I was looking at the Classic Elegance Collection. (I love roses!) I'm really curious as to how all that works so THANKS SO MUCH for posting this! I've subscribed so keep it coming! ;)

WOW. It just took me about 2 hours to read everything. It sounds wonderful. I'm sorry your FILS are being so rediculous. Your wedding looks like it will be amazing. I am from Southington. Where it CT are you from? I looked into the Marrings when we were going to have a CT wedding. We went with Jeff Hawkins in FL. He was wonderful.

I can't wait to read more. Everything is so different now than when we got married 3yrs ago. There were no couture options or stuff like that. It was intimate or custom. David Tuttera(did it spell that correctly?) was not a part of Disney then either. Mine was pretty custom and cost a pretty penny. I'm still paying. :scared1:

This is so cool. I'm excited to see it all unfold.

Well I have also been following your pj and I am glad to see that things are starting to get into full swing. I must agree that a 3 color combination will work in moderation. Use burnt orange as your main color and accent with the green and then make the turquoise your "secret color" and maybe even dye your crinnie turquoise since it is your color and that could be a secret pop that you can let your mom find out on your wedding day :thumbsup2 .

or use the turquoise as your accent color and the green as the secret color.

Love how everything is coming together so far and I can't wait for more.

I have to go make dinner now because your menu made me hungry
