LOVE Cake no. 2!!!!!

And I think it will look great- a three color combo can totally work- I esp. like the idea of a "super secret stealth color". hahaha Mine is CORAL.

I am having mostly pink and white but some lavender accents and the flowers are going to be all lavender, pink and coral (BM flowers, centerpieces, cake flowers, etc.)

Pink (gallon) lavender (quart) coral (pint)

So for you . . .

Burnt orange (gallon) turquoise/chartreuse (quart) chartreuse/turquoise (pint)

:)

Love the color theory here!

I really like the second cake as well. It looks very elegant and definitely has the couture look to it. I think those colours look fantastic together. I say go for it!

I think you're colors are very pretty together! And they'll be great for your wedding! :woohoo: Your cake choices are very cool (the first one you had was my launching point pic for my cake) The 2nd one is gorgeous and totally couture-fitting! And love the MK pics! Paul Looper is the best (he did our wedding and I loved him!)

Just read the whole thread! It all sounds amazing. Love the colours.

Hi everyone!

Thanks for all of your comments with the colors. I still have NO idea what I'm going to do, but I'm thinking today will help me come to a final decision...

because I'm going with my mom, gram, little sis (my maid of honor), and my cousin Megan (one of my BM) to go check out BM dresses today in Connecticut! YAY!!! I'm so excited (especially that I'm home this weekend!) I hope we find something that works! I'm a little nervous about picking the colors, but I'm sure whatever is meant to be will work out in the end.

I went last weekend with my BM Allison and my other BM (DF's sister) and we scoped out a few different styles and designers in San Fran, but really the final decision will come down to today. I'm a fan of Jenny Yoo's Rachel Long dress and one of the long, v-neck styles in the Vineyard Collection.

In any case, we're off now, but I will definitely share what we find! :thumbsup2

The only bad part about today is going to be the day I have to have my initial measurements taken for my actual gown. I've lost 15lbs since Christmas, but it was just the 15lbs I put on at the holidays and I'm still the same size as last time I tried on my dress. I didnt reach my goal, but I still have 8.5 more months to go, right???... oh well... :confused3

Wish me luck!! :goodvibes

I hope your shopping day turned out awesome! I have thoroughly enjoyed your PJ to date and wanted to subscribe so as not to miss anything. I also carry off turquoise and I love burnt orange and chartreuse!! :goodvibes The third cake is the one that pops to me and just looks wonderful. The second cake is beautiful but I would have to have a more "burnt" orange flower for sure, LOL:lovestruc I understand because my car is burnt orange too :flower3:

Well we finally decided on bridesmaid dresses!!!! And they aren't orange at all... actually the orange looked HORRIBLE on everyone, so there was no way I could torture my BM like that!

We're going with Jenny Yoo's Taffetta Collection and the bridesmaids will be able to pick one of three different long styles- a strapless (Katia Long), a strappy v-neck (Mika Long), or a thicker strap v-neck style with ties at the shoulders (Martine Long) as long as they are in the peacock blue color!

That's right! Peacock blue!! It's such a pretty color and I think it will look great with white and chartreuse green.

This is the dress color- Peacock blue:

This is the back of the Mika long style dress. All the long styles I picked have the sash to tie into a bow and are A-line, so they are different on the top, but will still have similar features to look tied together.

Here is my sister and my cousin in two of the taffetta styles. Mika is the dress my sister is wearing on the left and Martine is on my cousin on the right. Actually, the peacock blue color is the same color of the dress my sister is wearing on the left!! It looks brighter in this picture, but it's actually has a black thread through it so the color changes a bit.

I just think the white and green and peacock blue just naturally go well together and look classy. Plus, I think the color of the blue sort of reflects the "cool-ness" of winter...

Best of all, I think orange looks great against the blue, so I can still use orange flowers in my bouquet, which was all I really wanted anyway! :thumbsup2

Let me know what you think!!!!

The next day was my last day in DL (I had to head back home to CT 1 day before the rest of my family to start a summer teaching job), it also happened to be the same day as the movie premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean II in the DL Park, which was really cool..

Hey I was in DL that same day! My whole family met in CA on a surprise trip for my mom. (We all live very far apart so she LOVES when all her kids can get together at once...especially at Disney, lol) We didn't go to the Pirate premire, but we watched them set it up. Anyhow, small world, eh? pirate:

By the way - Congratulations! I have only got through the proposal post and now have to go to work but I will be back!! :)

Thanks for sharing!! :goodvibes

I didn't think about orange not looking good on everyone, just because it looks good on me, :rolleyes1. Smart move to go with the blue. A friend had peacock feathers in her bouquet and painted on her big toenail for good luck.

I love the dresses and the color. I think orange would be the PERFECT compliment to the blue. It will fit in well with your theme. I think that since the decor for the reception is mostly white, the blue and orange will really make everything POP! Great choice especially for winter!!!

I love the peacock blue. I love blue in general, but that shade will be a nice compliment to the orange. That's good that you're giving your girls options for the style. My BM dress came with a jacket and since it only had spaghetti straps I gave girls the option to wear it or not. Several of my bridesmaids ended up wearing it, so they felt more comfortable in the dress.

Congrats on your engagement and wedding plans! Can't wait to read more.

I LOVE the 2 different blues of the dresses together. Peacock feathers are gorgeous too ;-) and I agree - orange will look fantastic with it (orange is blue's complimentary color on a color wheel).

I cannot wait to see it all come together. It's going to be GORGEOUS!

Hi I've just spent a very lazy day reading your PJ inbetween playing with and feeding my youngest daughter and can I just say it's been fab:cloud9: . I'm so sorry it's not all be plain sailing but every silver lining has to have it's big grey clouds;) . I love all your choices they are stunning and I think that your wedding will be like something out of a movie. Thank you for sharing this journey with us:goodvibes
