That's about all that is new here!!! Hope you enjoy reading our initial menu!

Just read your menu. Everything sounds great. Your getting married on my birthday!!! You picked a great date!! Can't wait to hear more!

Wow! I bet you are getting excited! Your wedding will be here before you know it!

Everything looks absolutely wonderful so far! Wow.... Couture! I can't wait to read more!

Good to see you again! :goodvibes That year really will fly by, and if you measure your next trip home in Wedding-Planning Months (a.k.a. using one of those 12-month to-do lists from the wedding magazines), it will give you a heart attack when you see how soon it is :rotfl:

I have to say, I laughed when you said your FMIL's only question about the wedding when you broke the news was "What color exactly is burnt orange?" - how did you break the news? "Hi guys! So.... we'regettingmarriedinDisneyWorldhopeyoudon'tmind. And the colors are silver and burnt orange!" :lmao:

LoL quite literally it was like that! I think I was talking a mile a minute just kind of blurting out as much as possible to move on the from the fact that it would be in Disney World.

Carrie, I have to say I've spent this ENTIRE weekend reading your entire planning journal and trip report from beginning to end... I LOVE the dahlias! I think Rose is going to kill me too because now I think I have a NEW idea for my floral bouquet- gorgeous out-of-season flowers :rotfl: and the necklace you wore is gorgeous! I love the pop of color. My mom and I always called aqua/turquoise our "color" because no matter what it actually looks decent on us! I have to say that I might be rethinking my accent colors a little since orange and turquoise look soo good together! hmmmm....

Glad to know that you move went okay. I was supposed to go home (to Berlin, CT) the weekend before Christmas, but my work was so crazy that I needed to work that weekend. Thankfully, my mom, stepfather and niece came to visit me the weekend after Christmas. I'm glad that I am only a 4 hour drive away.

aww how nice of them to visit you! I was actually able to make a quick trip home 2 weekends ago. I took a red eye in to Hartford on Saturday morning and then had to drive down to Warren, NJ for training. I caught the flu after that trip, but it was worth it to see my family for at least a day!

I am so glad that you DF's parents didn't flip out! I can't wait to read more about your wedding plans!

Thanks, Goldeelox9! We've had to do a little "damage control" here and there, but it has gotten much better! Hope you will keep reading!

so beautiful!! and diffrent and elegant. it will beoutstanding. one question is that all included i mean do you change the decor (not that i think you should) or is it just when you pick the "chic" this is what you get colors, floral, food? just woudnering
but honestly i dont think you should change anything

When you pick the "chic" collection, that's what you get as a base, but you can change some things here and there as you go along. Originally that wasn't going to be an option, but I guess they opened it up. They talked about using burnt orange charger plates at the reception or burnt orange rose petals lining the isle instead of the white for my wedding in particular, but that's all stuff we'll figure out at the planning session and honestly I really like the white just as it is. Even when it came to the menu I thought I wanted something very traditionally New England (heavy foods) because it's homey to me and ones that I love, but then I thought about the sample menu they gave for the collection and I loved that too (and it was a bit lighter considering the amount of food we will have!) So what we ended up doing is putting my "heavy" New England favorites as appetizers for the cocktail hour (stuffed shrimp, lobster bisque, veal oscar fork) and infused more Ginger in the wedding menu itself as well as adding a more "Indian" type of chicken dish, which is more "us."

At first it seemed like the collection was very much "this is all you get-nothing can be changed!", but now it seams like they are a bit more flexible. It's a nice change!

The location is beautiful! I may have to come stand quietly in the back just to see the transformation! ;)

Love your orange sweater. The color looks great on you.

At least you have the right attitude about no news is good news. You have enough to worry about so move on. :thumbsup2

Thanks, askelton!!! I LOVE orange. It's a sickness hehehe... when I was turning 2 years-old all I wanted for my birthday was a cabbage patch doll in an orange dress. Not only were those dolls in a major shortage at the time, but none came in the box in an orange dress. But my Gram found a orange dress sold separately in a pack of many outfits and switched out the doll's original outfit to be the orange dress just so I could have the one of my dreams. It's funny how colors can have a lot of fun memories behind them!

You're back! You're back! I missed you and your plans!!

I have to say, the Wedding Pavillion looks ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS like that! Even my DBF went WOW when I showed him! I kinda saved the photos in our 'wedding' file :)

Glad the move went okay for you!

Hi Hayley!! I missed you too!!!! aww good you should save them and use them as ideas! Like I said earlier, I just looked at Carrie's trip report and have a whole new set of ideas!!

I hope you are doing well!!!!

Yay! You're back! I've been waiting for updates of your planning.

One question for you - did you post somewhere about your tasting at the Contemporary and I missed it? Or maybe I only thought you were doing something like that?! I'd love to hear.

I'm so glad to hear that your new job is going so well!

No tasting session just yet! We have that one scheduled for July, but we did have an "upgraded" reservation at the restaurant at the top of the contemporary resort- complete with 2 bottles of really expensive, super yummy (and I typically hate it!) wine- thanks to our new "Chef friends" that we met during our site visit. We even got to go behind the scenes to see the Contemporary kitchen area and went to a cast member party (celebrating the fact that the hotel got it's "green" certificate) to check out the different foods and presentations there. It was a blast! I always think it's fun to see Disney "behind the scenes" so to speak.

I juts have to pop in here and say I really love your Ceremony look. I was wowed! Congrats on your promotion even though you had to move. I will all work out in the end:cloud9:

Thanks for the kind words, mermaidbride1108!!

Oh my! I just read your PJ for the first time (from start to finish) and wow! You're so awesome, first of all. I'm kinda jealous now... I want the couture wedding. Oh well. But seriously, it's all soooo beautiful!!!! Thank you for posting all the pics and such.

And sorry about the in law drama. I'm going through crazy in law drama too. I don't know what I would do if it weren't for these boards. I mean, none of my friends really want to hear about it - and all my bridesmaids are in different states and when they call my DF is around and I can't complain about his family. You know what I mean! Anyway, good luck with your amazing wedding! I can't wait to hear more! (subbing)

Haha I totally know what you mean!

And believe me... we realize that our wedding is way over the top and a once in a life time crazy event. Originally we justified it with we had a home (which typically newlyweds needed to save for) and good paying jobs, but then our situation changed quickly, but our hearts were still set on the wedding of our dreams. Luckily we should still be able to pull it off with a few sacrifices from our original wish list (now there are no fireworks for DF, no Cinderella carriage for me, much smaller guest list, Disney Videography, etc) Honestly though i have no idea what I will do with myself once this event is over!!! I guess then it will be time to plan a 5th anniversary VR, right? :rolleyes1

The pictures of the before and after transformation of the sites are amazing! I am definitely looking forward to continuing to read about your plans.

Aren't they crazy? At first glance it seems like the Contemporary ballrooms are a little outdated, but then they look fantastic with their makeovers! I hope you'll stay tuned for more!

Wow!!!! Your wedding is going to be beautiful! My SIL had burnt orange and it's a really beautiful color. She was complimented all night my the skeptics.

I'm so happy to hear that! Do you know where she happened to find her BM dresses? I'm still trying to figure that out.

its been a while since i have been thru your pj...it looks like its still coming together wonderfully!!!!
:thumbsup2

Slowly, but surely it's coming along! I started my PJ almost a year ago... I'm surprised how quickly time has flown by, but at the same time I've definitely had gaps here and there where I haven't planned much! Stay tuned for more!:thumbsup2

Any new updates? I'm addicted to your planning.:cool1:

I'm so glad you asked! I get so caught up reading every one else's plans and TR and looking at all the pictures that I often forget to update my own PJ! OOPS! Thanks for the reminder!!

I just read your whole PJ and I'm subscribing. I'm so sorry to hear about all your trials and tribulations but I am looking forward to learning more about your couture wedding. Oh and we had Kristi Davi too.. We loved her. I miss her!

Thanks for reading! Kristi is fantastic... once you move past your save-the-dates, my guess is that you don't work with her as much. It will make me so sad not to get calls from her! She always knows how to brighten your day!!!

Just read your menu. Everything sounds great. Your getting married on my birthday!!! You picked a great date!! Can't wait to hear more!

Haha that's awesome! It's so many people's birthday! Like I told Hayley before, I'll save a piece of cake for you too ;) Hopefully it will bring us good luck as it seems to be a great day!

That menu sounds awesome!

Thanks, yearbook50! It sounds like a heck of a lot of food to me, but I guess that's what weddings are all about! I should also add a funny note because the "shrimp martini" and "poulet rouge mojito" are quite literally shrimp with a martini shooter and chicken with a mojito shooter... my sister is only 11 and was sooo mad when she heard our menu (in her mind, sushi/raw fish= MAJOR EWWW) and that some of our food contains alcohol that she can't have. Luckily we will only have 4 kids under the age of 13 at our wedding, so hopefully the adults won't feel the same!

Wow! I bet you are getting excited! Your wedding will be here before you know it!

I can't believe it's less than 10 months away! It's hard to believe we've been planning it for so long!

Everything looks absolutely wonderful so far! Wow.... Couture! I can't wait to read more!

Thanks, Jessbell34! I hope you will keep reading! I promise to be better with updates from now on

I was home on Feb 17, and I got sick right after that too! Mom says I got sick from someone here, but I didn't start feeling bad until 2 days after I returned from CT. I blame them. I managed to fly to California for a vacation without bursting an ear drum and felt great while I was there, but I've been declining again since I got back to PA. I hope you're feeling better.

That's what Grandma's are for!
I love your food selection. Definitely couture choices!

Courtney, I am so glad you've updated. What a wedding this will be! I love your menu, sounds amazing!!

That menu sounds wonderful! OMG. So, since we'll be there around the same time, mind if I crash to get some yummy Couture food? :lmao:

:goodvibes I'm so glad my PJ and trippie could give you some ideas! I always hope that something I did (or screwed up!) will be helpful to another bride because I got so much help from the DIS when I was planning. And you should totally incorporate "your color" into the Couture scheme you picked - it would be unique and personal!

The good , the bad, and the ugly. But i absolutely loved it. Your big day will be great.

I starting reading this last nite and just could not stop.
Its so nice to hear that others have the love of DISNEY
that I do.

I agree , your Wedding Day is going to be absoutely wonderful.

Just catching up on your report again. You posted your menu when I was still gone for my wedding, it sounds so delicious :thumbsup2 Looking forward to seeing pictures and hearing about it after your tasting this summer.

That was the best 4 hours of my life so far! :thumbsup2 Your wedding is going to be absolutely beautiful, and you have definately found a prince! Sorry the IL's can't be more like him! Congrats on your beautiful wedding and I look forward to reading more about it!

We also booked our hairstylists for our wedding! We are having Deborah Parkinson from the Aveda Salon Nimbus in Los Gatos, CA fly out for our wedding along with fellow hair stylist Steve Elias http://www.steveelias.com/ Both are such sweet people and do FANTASTIC work, so I am sooo excited to have them help us on our big day. Best of all, I can't say how nice it is to actually be able to know your stylist beforehand! :cloud9:

Thanks to Steve's recommendation, we are looking into Maria Nguyen, a make-up artist out of San Francisco. http://www.cosmeticgirls.com/ We still need to check on her availability and prices, but hopefully it will work out!

That's about all that is new here!!! Hope you enjoy reading our initial menu!
