Justine & Adam 4-21-12 SBP/LSS/SCP--Updated 9/30

Hey Justine,

Knowing how much you love the Ducks, I thought maybe you would know the answer to this. I see you are having 3 characters for your reception. I assume (hopefully, not incorrectly) that 2 of them would be Donald and Daisy. My question is...what outfit options were you offered for them?

Thanks!

Yes, you are correct in your assumption. We are hosting the two ducks and the male mouse. We actually haven't been offered outfit options yet, but I will def ask. I was thinking we would probably have Donald in his tux and Daisy in her yellow dress.

Thanks, Justine! I look forward to finding out.

Have a good weekend!

Your flowers look amazing!! I love the colors and they are just gorgeous. What a great bargain. They also look great in pictures, good choice!

Ok first of all I cannot get this song out of my head: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4nKOzk8qbw&ob=av2e

I'm not really even a fan of her's, but something about it makes me want to dance around and its a great work out song. Thank you to this Disbrides who recommended the My Fitness Pal website/app! What a great tool! I love it...it really helps keep me accountable, I totally think before I eat something "will this put me over my calorie limit?" I don't have a ton of weight to lose probably 5-8 lbs, but I would also like to tone my arms up too.

We got our invitation proof on Thursday and we mailed it back on Saturday with only a couple of changes (the ceremony time was off by an hour--yikes! and we tweaked the RSVP wording a bit more). I totally forgot to take pics, so you'll have to wait until they actually get here. We bought three different calligraphy pens at Hobby Lobby Saturday so we (Adam) could practice before it comes time to address all of the envelopes. I read a lot of different techniques like printing them in light ink and tracing them or using a lightbox and tracing them, but I think I’m just going to give Adam free rein to do as he will. I just want them hand addressed, they don’t have to works of art. I did manage to remember to ask the postal lady to weigh the proof before we sent it back and it looks like it should take 64 cents to mail them—the three stamps choices in that denomination are the wedding cake, dolphin, and monarch butterfly. I like them all so I don’t really care which one we use. Although I guess postage goes up later this month, so I’m holding off on buying any just yet. None of those designs are forever stamps so I don’t know if I’ll have to buy a bunch of extra postage stamps—I hope not, but I’m not too hung up on it. I think for our RSVPs we will use the Pixar stamps. There’s also the outside possibility that the final product might cost a bit more to send, so I’m just waiting on the stamps.

I did buy a cute return address stamp from Etsy to use on the back flap of the invitation:

Hmmm…what else? We decided as our gift to everyone in the bridal party that we would pay for everyone to have a day at Discovery Cove. I’ve never been, but it sounds like so much fun. We should 8 or 9 people total. I guess the most economical thing would be to buy one annual pass to Sea World and take advantage of the discount to Discovery Cove you get for being a passholder. I doubt we ever make it to Sea World, but it would def save money overall. I think we’ll probably rent a cabana for the day too so my Dad has somewhere to chill out. The plan is to do DC on the Thursday before the wedding…everyone will be in town by then except for Christopher, the best man’s boyfriend and our Officiant—he won’t get in until late Thursday.

I’ve also decided to finally attempt a DIY project…program fans. More details to come! I purchased the supplies online yesterday.

I just caught up!! Your stamp looks great... and Discovery Cove is on my bucket list!!! It looks like so much fun!! The time is going to fly from here!! You must be crazy excited!!!

My stepmom bailed on me for May, and Easter crowds seemed overwhelming...... so I merged the trips for April 19-24 and may creep on your wedding :rotfl:

Everything sounds and looks great so far! Can't wait to see more :thumbsup2

I'm having my bridal shower at Portobello at DTD on your wedding day!!! I just realized! Maybe I'll be able to see you at some point!

Discovery Cove is such an awesome bridal party gift!! I've never done it but would love to. We are actually taking a cruise to Bermuda for our first anniversary and I'm hoping to do a dolphin encounter type thing there. DC sounds way cooler than the one I'm looking into though. You'll have a great time, I'm sure!

We also did the calligraphy by hand for the invites. It wasn't perfect, but I think it turned out pretty good!

I'd never heard of Discovery Cove before, so I just looked it up. Seems neat!

We're looking forward to it!

I love the return stamp.

Thanks! There was so many to choose from.

I am so excited!!! We're mailing off the remainder of our payment for the 2 bedroom villa and the studio we are renting for our parents and us for the "before the wedding stay".

Of course you are welcome to creep on over to the ceremony :cool1:

Thanks! Oh, how exciting about your shower!! I've never been to Portobello, but I've heard its delicious! I would love to meet some other disbrides in person, Bethie is the only I've had the fortune to meet and that was just by chance in line for a ferry.

Adam and I did a dolphin swim when we went to Hawaii way back in 2006 and it was awesome. I'm sure whichever you choose will be awesome--do you read the boards at Cruise Critic? Those were a lifesaver when we went on our cruise.

I'm glad your calligraphy turned out well! I will be happy with just nice handwriting, lol. We'll see what he turns out.

So I searched Etsy forever trying to figure out what we want to do for a guestbook. We agreed that we liked the fingerprint idea, but we didn’t like that you don’t really get a signature too. We also thought about just doing the photobook, but I knew it would mainly just sit on a shelf. I searched and searched and finally found something we both loved. It’s a photo our names with our date written in the sand with the bride and groom mouse ears. I thought it was really fun that this was one of the 5 options for props until I started talking to the Etsy seller and it turned that she was Disney bride too! Here’s the proof of the photo:

I will get a mat and have guests sign that. We are also seriously considering buying the Thrilled for You program www.thrilledforyou.com Our best man has a Mac. I guess I just need to ask our planner if they would set up a highboy table near an outlet so we could set it up. I really like the idea and I think people will be more likely to record messages if they can do it at their leisure and not with a videographer in their face.

Oh, and we got assigned our DJ already! I was really surprised we found out so soon. We got Steve Dunlap. The reviews for him seem positive here on the boards. It sounds like he knows how to get a party started and keep it going, which is what we want. I’m so excited, it’s getting so close!

I haven’t had any contact with Dara from DPS just yet. I think I will send her an email so we can talk about a few things. I am comfortable with using DPS, but there are one or two photographers whose styles I just really don’t like and I want to express that I would greatly prefer not to be assigned to them. We are using DPS for the dessert party and the day of (Enchanted Rose package) and for videography. It’s a large part of our budget, so I’m hoping they will be accommodating.

Also, I have a phone conference with our planner this coming Wednesday to go over the list of changes I sent them to our BEO. I hope that goes well *fingers crossed*

I LOVE you're idea for a guest book!! I think it'll look great! :goodvibes

We had Steve as our DJ too and you wont be disappointed! I wanted him to DJ at our at home reception too but seeing as that was in the UK I thought it would probably be a little expensive to fly him over for the night! :rotfl:

I've been to Discovery Cove it is amazing it was quite a few years ago now but I remember it very fondly your guests will love that it's such a beautiful and peaceful place.

I love that photo with your names in the sand! We are doing some mad libs and some other books but I kind of want one of these just for us!

I love the stamp and looking forward to seeing your invites! That is awesome you are practicing to do your own calligraphy!

I think after I put a general "who should we request" here on the boards, I ended up requesting DJ Steve. I haven't heard back yet if we've gotten him and my wedding is two weeks after yours, so I can't wait to see what you think of him if we get him too!!

Discovery Cove sounds great! We did a dolphin swim in Mexico on a cruise a few years back and it was definitely "once in a lifetime" and we still talk about it! Your BP will love it! :lovestruc

Good luck with your phone call Wednesday! I have one then too but with Floral! Sending PD your way! :wizard:

What a unique idea for ur guest book :thumbsup2 Im glad ur happy with ur DJ, I HOPE HE ROCKS & gets everybody up and DANCING :dancer:

I love your guest book idea. Mostly because since I have the top hat and ears I just want to take this picture. I want to go to a beach and set this whole picture up how awesome would that be. Or make a sand castle and put my bride and groom vinylmations on the castle and take a picture.

thanks for the inspiration

Teresa

Just read through your PJ and love alot of your ideas! I'm definitely going to check out the website where you got your flowers, they are so gorgeous! We are also having problems picking a guest book, and the one I fell in love with on Etsy was $150, which I thought was kind of ridiculous. I think I am going to do cardstock with our monogram on it, and let folks put completed ones in a big glass vase, and then scrapbook them later with some wedding pics. Thanks for all your great ideas, look forward to seeing more!:thumbsup2
