Sounds like the same experience we had. There has to be a better way. :confused3

I was several updates behind, so I clearly remember Juliana's pretty cake...I read about it 10 minutes ago! ;)

That Toy Story cake is AWESOME! Wow! Does she make some bucks on the side doing cakes? She totally could!

LOL

That Toy Story cake is AWESOME! Wow! Does she make some bucks on the side doing cakes? She totally could!
I know she could make a killing, but she has no time. Too bad she couldn't get a contract with the Grand Floridian and supply them with all their cakes. :rolleyes1

This picture made me laugh out loud! If looks could kill! :rotfl:
If you knew her, you wouldn't mess with her. I, on the other hand, mess with everyone, so I got a pass. :rotfl:

wow you've been cranking out the updates ~ had computer issues for a week again, so trying to get all caught up!
I hope you got to the bottom of your computer problems.. I heard you were having issues. :headache:

LOL Maybe you are right! Mickey needs to stay away from all that soda.

O'hana's looks yummy, happy you got Mickey over to your table!

Today was Monday March 14. It was a sad, sad day. It was the day we were heading home. We had a trip that was full of emotions- staying with Melody's grandfather without her grandmother there, the joy of Disney, seeing the amazement of our friends who have never seen Disney before, the awe of seeing Juliana's picture on the castle, to the sadness of a trip ending and coming back to reality.

We wanted to be packed and out of the room early but our packing was taking extra long this morning. I'm not sure but I think Melody kicked Juliana & me out of the room. We walked over to Everything Pop to grab some breakfast and bring it back to the room.

On our travels....

I get a kick of how small Juliana looks next to Lady...

Juliana is in there somewhere...

DSC02098.jpg

We ate a quick breakfast and finally had all our bags packed and in the car. I remember stopping at Everything POP one more time to see if there were any more souvenirs we could stuff into our bags. I took a minute or two to fill out a few postcards that I had forgotten to mail- then we were off!

DSC02100.jpg

We weren't headed to the airport though. We were headed to a land we had never stepped foot in before. A place we had only read about in books. A place that you don't read much about in a Disney TR.....

DSC02101.jpg

We had tickets for Universal from Juliana's Wish trip, and since we didn't make it there on her trip, we had a few hours to explore before we needed to drive to MCO.

Juliana filling out her ticket.

We went towards the Islands of Adventure side because they have the Dr. Seuss area and Juliana LOVES Dr. Seuss. (A few weeks ago, Juliana read her first full book to me- Go Dog Go!!! Melody & I were so proud of her!)

The crowds were building so we chose a ride. Since Melody was pregnant, she didn't want to go on any rides that were too rough. She let Juliana and me go on our own to The Cat in the Hat.

Waiting to ride.....

The posted wait time was 45 minutes and it took at least that long before we made it on the ride.

We had fun on the ride. I felt bad because Melody could of went on the ride with us. It was like being on Winnie the Pooh. Mel wasn't too sad though, she was sitting in the sun trying for a few last rays before we headed home.

Up next.... More from Universal

And that's what it is all about. The highs and lows of any vacation trip and time spent having fun with loved ones. Those are the memories that will last forever.

Blasphemy!!! :scared1:

Eh, who am I kidding? I enjoy that park too. I've been there a couple of times when I was in Orlando and didn't even get to go to any Disney parks. Don't tell the other DisDads though. :rolleyes1

Ok, was it really because she wanted to go to the Seuss part or because you wanted to ride the Hulk?

:woohoo::banana::cool1::thumbsup2 Good job Juliana!!!

Very well said. :thumbsup2

I feel like I should of did more research to get more out of US but it we still had fun. :goodvibes

Ok, was it really because she wanted to go to the Seuss part or because you wanted to ride the Hulk?
Well, I'll get to that in the next post... :rolleyes1

:woohoo::banana::cool1::thumbsup2 Good job Juliana!!!
She will love seeing all the smilies. ;)

Ok, how did I end up several updates behind here Timmy? Catching up...

Isn't Ohana a great breakfast? We love it there. The food is yummy and you can't go wrong with Mickey waffles and that Polynesian juice! I'm surprised I didn't come out in a sugar coma considering how many glasses I drank...:rolleyes1

Aw, Juliana is so cute with the characters. I love all the leis in her hair too, she's a fashionista!

You guys look so cute with Pluto too. On our very first trip with our girls, my youngest was only 4 and she kept yelling "hey Plu dog, over here!" from our table at Ohana! People at the surrounding tables kept turning around and laughing. It's one of my favorite Disney memories.:goodvibes

I'm telling you, Ana is a budding photographer! Her pictures are so good. Seriously, she does a great job photographing you and Mel.:goodvibes

Holy cow, that cake is incredible!!! Wow. She should work for the Grand Floridian bakery, I'm guessing her creations would taste better than the $100 tinkerbell cake we ordered one year that tasted like chocolate flavored cardboard. Ugh. But that Toy Story cake is amazing! Very professional.:thumbsup2 How long did it take her to make it?

How cool that she was able to celebrate with her cousins. That's what makes family so fun! And kudos to you for being brave enough to hold the pinata. DH did that once, once because he um, got clobbered in the family jewels if you know what I mean. Last time he ever volunteered to hold a pinata.

Mel's baby bump picture is so cute! Does she ever take a bad pic, doesn't seem so.:goodvibes

Ah, the dark side. We are contemplating a quick hop over on our next trip too. Which reminds me, a little birdie told me that you're considering a November trip?? We're debating that time frame too! Do you have dates set yet?

Dr. Seuss looks like such fun and super cute pic of Ana waiting to ride:cutie:. I know my girls would get a kick out of it and they loved that book "Go Dog, Go." Looks like you managed to squeeze in even more park time, good work!

Looking forward to the rest of the dark side update.

love the photo of Ana in front of Lady :goodvibes

Universal....are you going to jump the Disney ship :lmao: the Dr Suess land does look very colorful! Ana looks like she enjoyed the ride!

Love the picture of Juliana in front of Lady. The pictures with the icons are fantastic.

And that cake...wow. I can't even comprehend having the patience or skill to do something like that!

hahaha the dark side. I'll be interested to read your comparison between IOA and Disney parks. The Dr. Seuss area looks like fun, we go back and forth on when to try IOA because the boys love super heros, but they are too little right now to enjoy any major rides.

Love Juliana's outfit, so cute, and fitting for the land you are in. Looking forward to reading more

Yeah, last days are such a bummer. It was neat that you could hit Universal on your way out though.

Juliana's Seuss threads are pretty cool....did she get those from the Big Give people?

:cheer2: Kudos to Juliana for reading her first book. We have video of our first child "reading" a Berenstain Bears book when she was a tot...but she couldn't read -- she had it memorized, she could recite it word-for-word.

Ana's Seuss dress is so cute! Just adorable. I loved loved that area when the E's were her age. Heck, Kendall (at 14) bought Thing 1 and Thing 2 shirts from there for her and her best friend. Never to old for Seuss.

Love the pic of Ana and the Lady. Can't wait to hear how the rest of your time at IOA went.

Last days stink! But at least you could squeeze some more fun in. Even if it is at that "other" park.

Congrats to Juliana on reading her first book! :thumbsup2

Hey, when did you get hit by the tag fairy? Or did I just miss that earlier.

First, congratulations to Juliana for reading her first book to you. That must have been so exciting for you guys.

Love the outfit the Princess if wearing to Universal...too cute. We missed Dr. Seuss land when we were there...but then we didn't have any kids with us so it was not necessary for us to head there; but I think I'd like to at least go take a look around -- it looks really neat.

Ok, how did I end up several updates behind here Timmy? Catching up...
You were probably too busy bustin' on Marv. :rotfl2:

Isn't Ohana a great breakfast? We love it there. The food is yummy and you can't go wrong with Mickey waffles and that Polynesian juice! I'm surprised I didn't come out in a sugar coma considering how many glasses I drank...:rolleyes1
It was a great time. It isn't something we would do on every trip, but maybe every other. :lmao:

Yea, I was killing that juice. :rolleyes1

Aw, Juliana is so cute with the characters. I love all the leis in her hair too, she's a fashionista!
Thanks!!! princess:

You guys look so cute with Pluto too. On our very first trip with our girls, my youngest was only 4 and she kept yelling "hey Plu dog, over here!" from our table at Ohana! People at the surrounding tables kept turning around and laughing. It's one of my favorite Disney memories.
That is so funny. We love Pluto! He is one of our favorites and he is Puppy's 2nd cousin! pluto:

I'm telling you, Ana is a budding photographer! Her pictures are so good. Seriously, she does a great job photographing you and Mel.
Now if I can get her to hold the camera still. :upsidedow

Holy cow, that cake is incredible!!! Wow. But that Toy Story cake is amazing! Very professional.:thumbsup2 How long did it take her to make it?
Your cake sounds like our 2 cakes from there. I am DONE throwing my money away on cakes there. :sad2:

I'm not sure how long it takes her. I should do a montage of her cakes- they are all amazing. :thumbsup2

How cool that she was able to celebrate with her cousins. That's what makes family so fun! And kudos to you for being brave enough to hold the pinata. DH did that once, once because he um, got clobbered in the family jewels if you know what I mean. Last time he ever volunteered to hold a pinata.
I will only hold one if there are strings attached. I won't put my.. ummm I won't allow them to...errrrrr I refuse to have a swinging bat come near my... ahh forget it.

Mel's baby bump picture is so cute! Does she ever take a bad pic, doesn't seem so.
Of course I don't post any bad pics. You know she sit over my shoulder while I post right? She is the editor. :lmao::lmao:

Ah, the dark side. We are contemplating a quick hop over on our next trip too. Which reminds me, a little birdie told me that you're considering a November trip?? We're debating that time frame too! Do you have dates set yet?
Yes we have dates.... mostly set. Stay tuned. ;)

Dr. Seuss looks like such fun and super cute pic of Ana waiting to ride:cutie:. I know my girls would get a kick out of it and they loved that book "Go Dog, Go." Looks like you managed to squeeze in even more park time, good work!
We read Dr. Seuss all the time.. well we read it inbetween all the Disney princess books. :lmao:

I'd say that the Dr. Seuss area would be good for 6 or 7 and younger.

Looking forward to the rest of the dark side update.
I was trying to get it out today but it didn't happen... maybe tomorrow. :confused3

love the photo of Ana in front of Lady
She look so tiny!

Universal....are you going to jump the Disney ship :lmao: the Dr Suess land does look very colorful! Ana looks like she enjoyed the ride!
Well, I don't think you have to worry about us jumping ship. ;)

Love the picture of Juliana in front of Lady. The pictures with the icons are fantastic.
Thank you! It was nice to have a little time with her to walk around and explore... even if it was our last day.

And that cake...wow. I can't even comprehend having the patience or skill to do something like that!
She has a talent... I try to tell her to go into business, but she has an excellent job. :goodvibes
