I started week 3 of C25K today and the session went pretty well!
I did get fitted for good running shoes (big shoutout to Marathon Sports in Wellesley, MA!). It has really helped - I used to have some trouble with plantar fasciitis and have had NO foot pain since I got them. So far this go-round the shins are pretty good. I have lost 35 pounds since I last tried this, and I imagine that helps.
Me too!!! I'm going to do Expedition Everest as my first 5K. Woo hoo.

Cherie you are?!?!?
DS14 and I are running it too!! It will be my first 5K.
Sandy, how old is your son?
DS is a cross country runner and the other kids seem to be following in his footsteps so I figure what better way to spend time with my kids.
Cherie - That is awesome!!! Glad to know I am not the only 5k newbie!I started week 3 of C25K today and the session went pretty well!

Yep. Are you Buffy? It's crazy, but I have 'the bug' now. I started C25K but switch to the penguin plan (since carrie told me about it). I love it. I've been on it since November, minor set back when i was sick for two weeks, but back on. So I should be ready!!! Although, my mom was going to travel with me and now it looks like I will be solo.

As corny as it sounds, get matching shirts, almost everyone has something and believe me some are really crazy but fun to look at.

As part of his bday present I am going to put together an 'announcement' that he and I are going down for Everest.
We had talked about doing it so I know he really wanted to, but I had told him awhile ago that we might not be able to afford to (which was real, but DH and I have decided that DS and I can do it). I am SO looking forward to this special 1x1 time with him.

For those who have done this ... when we go to Packet Pick Up, do we just bring the confirmation email as proof of registration??? What is the procedure?
