Just say no to low cut jeans! (and muffin tops and cracks)

Your a dude. The closer to nekkid a pretty girl is the better you like it. Skin=sex. That doesn't mean it looks good, just luridly sexy. They are not the same, women who weren't raised in trailer parks know this. Or at least they used to.:sad2:

Low cut jeans doesn't have to show off butt crack to look good. In fact leaving a little to the imagination is much sexier than just being practically naked in poorly fitting clothing. Someone with a nice thin figure showing off the small of their back with those little back dimples or their waist = sexy. Someone showing off the same part of the back with fat falling over the top of their jeans like a basset hound's mouth = not so sexy. I'm sure it is the same for women. There is a reason Beckham is in those Armani underwear adds and not John Goodman.

Low cut jeans worn right don't show off any more than necessary. I assure you I can look at someone and know if they look good or look like they are trying a little too hard. There is a very big difference between sexy and trashy.

It doesn't help that fashion only looks good on certain-sized people and sucks on those outside that narrow "bandwidth".

Yes! Why do they put all the darn fabric down at the end of your leg where you don't need it? Who decided this looks good?

people who realize that gathering at the narrowest part of your body (your ankle) makes the rest of your body look way bigger than it really is.

How about jeans that fit at the waist and tapered leg?

I HATE BELLBOTTOM/FLARE/BOOTCUT style jeans!!!

Unlike men, I don't like showing off my undies or my butt-crack. :scared::crazy2:

:thumbsup2 ::yes:: Finally there is someone out there who likes the same type of jeans! That's what I LOVE - fit at the waist and tapered - and I wear Lee brand jeans. Unfortunately, after clicking on the OP's link, tapered only come in jeans with the side elastic waist (which is what I'm currently wearing) Whatever happened to their tapered jeans without the elastic side waist?

I can't wear anything but low-rise jeans, and I'm decidedly not 20 and a size 0!

With my long torso, nothing else works. Regular jeans hit at an odd place in my torso. My low rise hit about an inch above my belly button and it feels perfect. I've yet to have trouble with a peekabo back either. :confused3

Worn right and in the correct size, they're really quite flattering on many people.

I don't care for tapered legs at all. I think most people, myself included, look much better in slight flare or bootcut. The line is better and it balances out the top a bit.

Or, as we like to say...

Just say no to crack!

An you all know the crack we're talking about....mmmhmmm...bad low rise jeans leave little to the imagination sometimes... :rotfl:

And who the heck decided that plus-size women HAS to wear pants with elastic in them!!! Just 'cuz we're Pooh-size doesn't mean we forgot how to BUTTON OUR JEANS!!!!:mad::mad::mad:

If I want to wear elastic-waist pants, I'll wear warmup pants or sweats.

I can't stand full elastic waist bands, but side elastic, I'm ok with. I'm a size 18P (which is hard to find as it is). However, I can fit into a size 16P Lee jeans with the side elastic. My body portions changed in my lower abdomen area after DS7 was born, so that little bit of extra stretch helps.

They sell those Nine West jeans at Sams for $16.00?! Those look REALLY nice and just like some old jeans I had and :cloud9:. Wonder if they ever have talls? Hmmm....

Yep, Sam's Club in Hagerstown, MD!!!! Bought 2 pair about a month and a half ago. Not sure about talls, I am just average:hippie:.

I like my low rise jeans. I'm a size 7, so to wear any kind of elastic jeans is a definite no no in my book.

Those Lee jeans do look like mom jeans to me ...sorry!

Kohl's sells these jeans plus Gloria Vanderbilt ones that look exactly like it.

I hate them! I bought these Lee jeans today and I love them!

http://www.lee.com/store/LEE_STORE_US/en_US/product/women/jeans/comfort-fit-bootcut-jean.html

And no, they are not 'mom' jeans. They fit great, boot cut, long enough and very flattering!

I feel so liberated! No more belly roll or panty flashing!

AMEN!!!!!!!!
Grown up jeans what a concept:banana: Glad you found something you like!

(I couldn't buy jeans with any kind of elastic.....just wouldn't work for me).

Everyone has a different shape, I'm just saying I found something I love that works for me. I have a long torso and low rise jeans just don't cover enough. I'm not a size 6 anymore, I'm a size 10. I'm not 21 anymore, I'm 52. The bootcut makes my hips look more in proportion, I think tapered legs equal Mom jeans. I'm 5'6", not a petite.

Low cut jeans, like form fitting clothes, two piece bathing suits, and backless dresses look good on the right body. I have seen many people in all of them that look amazing and others that look like meaty disasters.

I think everyone should dress for their body type and not try to pull something off that looks bad at best and comical at worst.

You hit it right on the head. Just because something is "in style" doesn't mean it is for everyone. I see too many middle aged women trying to dress like their daughters.

I've tried the Lee jeans and others like it. I don't like them but for different reasons. It's the fabric.

I can't tell you how many $40 jeans I've thrown out over the last year. The Lee jeans, the Levi's jeans, and a few other brands. It's the Lycra that I CANNOT stand. Oh sure, they are really nice in the store. I try the jeans on and the look great. The fit is great.

But after a few washings, while the jeans don't really shrink, I start feeling like a sausage in them (and I'm not overweight). I can't stand how the denim fabric with the added lycra, just clings to me. I don't find it flattering at all. And they are uncomfortable. But it's probably just me. I don't think they look anywhere near as good as they did when I tried them on in the store and this is just after 4-5 washings, if that. Goodwill has gotten a LOT of jeans from me.

Two weeks ago, I wasted another $40 dollars on a pair of Levi's. I had bought some Levi's about 5 year ago that fit really well so I picked up a similar pair. Of course, these are "slimming" and have more lycra in them than the first pair. But they looked great in the store. Now I hate them.

I really just want to find a pair of old-style jeans (with an updated cut) that are made of 100% cotton denim. I am told that I have to shop in the $100 price range to get that and then there's something about Japanese denim that's wonderful?:confused3 I don't get it. This country used to make GREAT denim jeans. When I lived overseas, the people over there constantly wanted me to bring them jeans back.

I think all this lycra in the jeans is making ALL the jeans look "mom-like."

Jeans are the bane of my existence right now! I cannot find a single pair that isn't made of stretch material. I hate stretch jeans! I don't mind straight leg or boot cut -- prefer boot cut, and the waist I'd like to sit right at or slightly above the hips. But I can be flexible on that as long as they aren't stretch jeans.

ITA!!

I swear after you wash these jeans, all the "stretch" in them shows more imperfections than the heavy denim of long ago.

Oh yeah! To me, even if they are a size larger, they are almost like wearing yoga pants or that sort of thing. At least with regular denim, they'll hold it in for you.

I have two pairs of jeans right now and when they go, I'm going to have to either search in earnest for non-stretch or switch to khakis... which even they anymore are made of stretch material!

Although they may be comfortable, they are not flattering on a plus size body.

When my DD was younger and wore jeans like that, my montra to her was "Just say no to crack". You should rename this thread!
