Just Returned using DDP! Any Questions About These Restaurants?

This is probably a self-evident question -- I know you were on the DDP -- were you allowed to order the Dalkey Duo at RR as an appetizer, or did you have to pay OOP for it?

We have a ressie at RR for 7:30. I was hoping that would allow us to catch some of the entertainment, and yet not feed ds9 too late. Now I'm wondering if I should try for a later time? I guess I could always fill him up on a snack...:rotfl:

Since the Dalkey Duo is an appetizer "for two," we were given the choice of either paying OOP or sharing. My son and I decided to share. It was quite good and the mustard dipping sauce was delish! And IMHO, definitely enough for two!

According to the business card we got at RR, entertainment starts at 9 pm which was the case when we were there. However, other Disers have said that they have been earlier and been able to enjoy the entertainment. :confused3 I know every child is different, yet my 10 yo son really enjoyed RR, both at our early dinner (5ish) and our late dinner (9ish) Both times were just wonderful all around. So if you decide on trying for a later dinner, do as you suggested...fill him up with a good snack! :goodvibes

What was the Backlot Express like? What did you order? I am still very undecided about our CS meals at MGM.

Thanks:)

The Backlot Express was ok, yet nothing to write home about. I wish they offered more of a selection. My DS10 had the hotdog & friesand my DH had the double cheeseburger & fries. Ehh. Too bad they do not have more of a "fixin's" bar-just had the usual little packets of mustard, ketchup, mayo. I had the grilled turkey panini with arugula & roasted red peppers which was "good." For dessert we ordered the marble cheesecake and the strawberry parfait. Those were funky! :scared: Luckily my son, although an "adult" on The DDP, was able to get a cookie. He was also able to get a huge frozen coke cooler as his drink. The atmosphere was crazy hectic when we were there, with people standing near you as you ate, hoping to grab your seats.
