Just returned. Thanks to disboards!!

We just returned from a 7 night stay the week before thanksgiving. Oh how much fun we had!!!!!!!!I just wanted to THANK all the disboarders who gave me great tips and helpful advice. You guys and gals are great. Now I hope to return the favors. Any questions I can answer I would be glad to.

Now to start planning a trip for 2007..........

We stayed at All star movies for 6 nights. We liked it. The walls are pretty thin though. Thankfully the neighbors were quiet. The room was super clean and very comfortable . The cms that worked in the lobby were not very helpful though. Had problems getting some of them to understand us. There english wasn't very good. And we booked a king room and were told when we got there they only had doubles in the section we wanted. That was annoying. The food court was ok. Had mickey waffles with strawberries several mornings. For the money it wasn't bad. I would stay there again. We were comfortable there.


Then we left for one day missed it and came back and spent the night at Port Orleans Riverside. Oh, that was nice. We loved it. Tons of pools. So we got to swim in an empty pool. All star pools weren't too bad but they stayed busy. Port Orleans had a very nice room. A ceiling fan, double sinks and a bigger room than the all stars. We even took a boat ride and had drinks in the lobby. It was great. My Dh was sold on Port Orleans. He said he would happily stay there again. They also offer carriage rides in the evening(for a fee I think 35 a trip). The boatwright Restaurant was good too. We ate breakfast there good food, good prices.My DH loved the pancakes. Can't wait to stay here again. Guess I better start saving.

Isn't this board great! It is an excellent source for Disney info. We are seasoned Disney travelers, yet I have learned so much from the DISER's on this board. A friend told me I needed to check this site out and from that point on I have been hooked! I am so excited about my upcoming trip to the 'house of the mouse'. The Disney secret thread was great, and I really can't wait to check out all the neat things I found on it this January.

Some of the places we ate...

Crystal Palace (2)- I love this place!! Food was awesome and the character interaction was good. I can't wait to eat here again.

Cinderellas Castle- I was disappointed slightly. You only see Cinderella at the entrance area where you have your photo taken and then if you want it you have to buy it. The other characters were great though. And the food was good. Though not as good as CP to me.

Sci-Fi Drive In- I love this place. I know a lot of disboarders disagree with me on this . We have been there twice and the food was good. On the dining plan we got $70 worth of food for two. We had ps but there was no wait and the service was great.

1900 Park Fare(breakfast)- Lovely setting, great breakfast. We liked it alot. I wish there had been more characters though. Alice, the mad hatter and tigger were there. Mary Poppins was in the lobby the whole time. I was so hoping for the Queen of Hearts. Maybe next time.

Garden Grill- We had one of the last seatings for the night. The service was bad. We waited for over half an hour for a waiter to show up. We even asked at the seating station where our waiter was. One large party got up and walked out because no one would wait on them. When we did get waited on the food was good. We enjoyed it. By the time we got done eating the rest of the restaurant was cleared out. So the characters were bored. They came over and hung out around our table, joking with us and eachother. It was great. It totally made up for the service. We laughed so hard we forgot about the service. I would go here again but I would want the last seating again.
