just posted on dcl website: fall 2018 booking opens may 18

This is my first DCL cruise so I can't book until 5/18. I hope I remember once I'm on board to book it.

Yes, go to the booking desk and get the hours -- and book as soon as you can -- even that night if they open. You should be fine, but the discount will be nice and should help if prices went up. You will also get an OBC.

I'm sorry, I meant no disrespect! My knee jerk was just it's so little and... normal?... for a port! I mean, it's Oregon! DCL is coming to Oregon of all states! XD

It sounds like I DEFINITELY need to do another road trip soon - I don't recall any of those places at all. Just the tall bridge and going to the Goonies house and honestly I can't remember checking out a brewery other than Rogue (not my favorite but they kind of put us on the map in a way). Which one is your favorite..? My husband is completely on board with going down that day to see her when she ports. Do you volunteer for the ships too? That would be so fun!

OK, I forgive you! I am a teacher so I won't be able to go down there, but plan on going after school to see her leave! Also, I was just thinking it will be a great stop for any crew members that can go off board ... TAX FREE SHOPPING!!!

Astoria has really grown the past few years. Right now we have three amazing breweries, Fort George Brewing, Buoy Beer, and Reach Break Brewing. I would also rank Rogue at the bottom of the list. Fort George has a great brew pub, and Buoy has great food too and it's on the water! If anybody comes out I'd love to meet some fellow DISers at the end of the day!

That would be outstanding -- as NYC is only a 2 hour drive for us and no flying required is always a plus! Well worth the parking fees! And maybe (one can hope) that the prices will go down to meet industry standards if those itineraries become common and the new ships enter the market :thumbsup2
They offered a lot of discounts on the NewYork cruises last year and then actually lowered the prices this year. Wrong time of year? Or the itinerarys? I would think Bermuda and Quebec would be very popular as long as they don't price it too high. You know it will be higher then their competitors, but hopefully not crazy since it is off season and hurricane season. I'm hoping they keep sailing to Bermuda since I plan on booking the WBTa on Monday. I would love to do a Bermuda cruise sometime.

Does anyone know what ship is going to be sailing the New York cruises to Bermuda? Would I be correct in assuming it's the Fantasy?

As PrincessShmoo said, it will be the Magic. The biggest giveaways are that the Magic is repositioning directly to New York from Europe; that there is no Port Canaveral-NYC repositioning cruise that you would expect if one of the larger ships was heading to New York; AND the announced itineraries include the Fantasy's usual Western/Eastern Caribbean cruises.

For Castaway members is the only way to book to call Disney (versus online)? I have used travel agents in the past but after booking NYC last year through a travel agent I decided never again for newly released itineraries. By the time we went back and forth in email the price jumped $1,000 and we had to downgrade our stateroom and still paid more than the first quote the agent gave me (which was for a better category stateroom). It was not worth the Onboard credit. I decided next time I am going to book directly when booking opens and eliminate the middle man. I just want to make sure I am understanding that this can only be done by phone and not online?

Yes, on the Castaway Club members preview days, you can only book by calling. Online bookings don't open until it's open to the public.

That sounds like bad customer service on the TA's part. The moment we express interest for a cruise to our TA, she immediately puts the three-day hold on it to lock in a price, even if we end up passing on it.

That is why I am not going to use that agency anymore. It sounds like I need to find a better agency. My agent never offered to put a hold on it and by the time she got back to me the price skyrocketed.

Side note: Hurricane season doesn't exist in Quebec and Saguenay. We might get the rain fall and a little wind (leftovers from hurricanes) but that's it.

Glad to finally see a couple of Bermuda options. I have travelled there by plane a few times over the years and always enjoy my time there. Might have to grab one of those on Monday before the prices skyrocket.

Bermuda is intriguing (especially the October 6 night and the 5 night over the long weekend).

At first Quebec was intriguing too, but we've spent time looking at the HAL itineraries and I prefer the port variety HAL offers (maybe that's just an Ontario girl hoping to see as many east coast Canadian cities/provinces as possible reaction though).

Yes, this is how our TA does it also. As long as you have given them an idea of the itinerary, date(s) and stateroom preference, they should have booked it and then checked with you!

I was in at 8:05, on hold for 30 minutes, the hold music stopped, got a "circuits busy" and then was disconnected.
