7. Nearly there! Part 2


So this happened this morning…

That means that I can officially say, this time next week I will be in WDW! That makes me ridiculously excited!

My mind is drifting now though, I have four days of work left and it can’t seem to focus on it at all, I keep planning things in my head. It’s not good!

In order to persuade my parents to take this trip (they didn’t really need that much persuading, it was more convincing that we could afford it/we had time to do it) I had to give a number of reasons – as if being away for four years wasn’t enough!

So seeing as how WDW’s theme at the moment is “Celebrate” I started to list a whole load of things we really needed to celebrate…

Like my 21st…

My graduation…

(This would be where my photos end!!)

Getting my first actual, real world job…

My dad’s 50th…

My brother’s graduation next year…

To that matter, my brother’s 21st next year and my mum’s 50th too.

There were really a lot of reasons to celebrate so they hopped right on board! Woohoo!

One piece of slightly negative news to finish on, we heard back from our hotel, we can’t get the same room we got last time because they have apparently clocked on to the fact you can watch the fireworks and are now charging waaaay more for it. So if we want it we need to upgrade. No fair.

So we’re not watching fireworks from our room any more, I won’t lie and say I’m slightly devastated but I thinking it through rationally we will hopefully be out most evenings anyway. Plus I hope we can head to the beaches on the Poly and the Grand Floridian and also to the Boardwalk to watch the fireworks from there.

There is only positive thinking in Disney!

Haha I'm updating now as we speak, I hope it'll be worth reading haha!

We do all have good taste They are gorgeous though, they're from Next, I was dead surprised!

Being a planner is best! I love planning my trips, my dad's colleague has asked if I can recommend some restaurants for him when he goes in April... he won't know what's hit him!! Haha.

No way - I never really shop in Next, although they do have such nice clothes!! I'm off shopping tomorrow night, so might take a look in there.
OMG, that happens to me all the time - I just planned a trip for some family friends of ours, they fly home today actually. They text me to say they were having a brilliant time & all of my tips & planning had helped them loads! WOOHOO

I actually do want to go in 2014!! I want to go for the food & wine festival.. imagine all the yummy snacks! When do 2014 prices come out ?

I agree with Frankie -- annoying about the room!! But definitely go watch the fireworks from the poly beach. I've watched them from Narcosse's restaurant at the Grand Floridian and it was magical !
Even if you don't get to watch the fireworks from the Boardwalk, its totally worth a visit. I want to stay there sooo bad. You have to try something from the Boardwalk Bakery too - OMG the cakes and pastries are amazing.

And yes.. Food & Wine Festival Trip - lets make this happen!!

My 21st was May last year Thanks hun, I love that photo so much, gonna print it out and frame it one of these days I went to Newcastle Uni, best place to be!

Typical hotel indeed, it is so frustrating, we're hoping we might be able to sweet talk them around when we get there though haha

Ooh I will try that, so excited to see the fireworks from new places! I am SO excited to see the Boardwalk, for some reason it's somewhere we've never really gone but it looks so pretty! Gahh Boardwalk Bakery, I am hungry just thinking about it! I want to try Beaches and Cream too so badly!

8. Suitcases and the Paralympics!

I’m in final countdown. Two days to go. Just two. It’s weird, I’ve hit that bizarre moment where despite being excited I almost don’t want it to come anymore, because when it comes that means it will be over. And I am not okay with that happening!

I also think it’s safe to say that, while finishing off my final two days at work before the trip, my brain has completely switched off. I am probably only functioning at about a quarter of the capacity I should be – not ideal.

Time seems to be ticking by so slowly. I look at the clock after what feels like hours to find it has only been 10 minutes. It is pure torture!

Tomorrow is my last day at work however, which means I get to drive home, do the last minute packing, head to bed, and then wake up and go to the airport. Not going to lie, that’s a pretty good deal!

I went home last weekend to bring all my clothes home to properly pack (we’re a random family who like to spread everyone’s stuff around all of our suitcases so I had to go home so the rest of my family could pack!)

It was a very productive weekend, not only did we manage to get all of our luggage sorted but I also managed to finish my planning book, set out a kind of firm plan for our park days – which will be clarified on the 9 hour trip to Orlando – and listen to copious amounts of Disney music.

Just because there have so far been no pictures, here are some of our packing!! Haha

I have to say though, the highlight of my weekend was definitely going to see the Paralympics in London. My parents don’t live all the far from the Olympic Park so we managed to grab some cheap swimming tickets on the Friday night and headed up on Saturday.

It was amazing. Our “cheap” tickets happened to be right bang smack in the middle of all the spectating athletes, so we had Team USA, Team New Zealand and the Ukranian team behind us, ParalympicsGB was to our right and the Spanish team was in front of us. It was incredible.

We witnessed Ellie Simmonds win her GB gold and we saw at least 11 medal ceremonies.

I also got an amazing hoodie. TeamGB all the way!!

And to finish, because this basically makes me hungry every time I look at it/remember it, this beauty. A strawberries and cream waffle with chocolate sauce. Heaven.

Aww thanks for the compliments, I loved making my countdown calendar, I had to take it down today though because I know it will be so depressing to see it when I come back!!

I wish you were still there too, but I understand why you went home! We'll meet one day, that's a promise!!!

I am so exited for you right now!! I bet your bouncing off the walls with excitement haha.

Your family is so like mine It's unreal - we spread our clothes out over 4 cases and we put everything like adapters & toiletries in a pile to check we have everything! My boyfriend thought I was mad when I did it for our holiday earlier this year, but It's so much easier when you know where everything is!

That waffle looks amazing btw, I want one! I'm glad you had a good time at the paralympics, I bet it was an amazing experience.

I'm sad that we aren't going to be able to chat for 2 weeks but I can't wait to hear all of your stories and see all of the photo's!
