Just off 4 night dream

Forgot to mention since I didn't see many people talk about it, the Jedi training they do on the ship is first 15 kids per side. Barely got both of ours in and we got there 35 minutes early.

We were the first room on the other side, but at least the forward elevators weren't too far.

Our tickets for the meet and greet were in the room with our pre-booked excursion tickets the first day. Unfortunately, my boys only wanted to see Olaf who wasn't available when we went down there.

For us, it felt like just enough time to experience everything. I don't think I would have gone shorter.

We did the Atlantis water park and felt like it was too much for too little time. Maybe if our kids could go off on their own it'd be different, but I didn't think it was worth it. Castaway Cay was much better and all we did was rent a float.

We didn't have too many problems early in the morning or between the dinners.

We were able to catch Captain America Civil War one night as well.

Yes! Forgot about Capt. America!

We were on this cruise, too. We were on deck 10 and found it worked great for us.
Pools were crowded but my kids liked the hot tub and the Mickey slide. We did Aquaduck with no wait right at 9 on Nassau day for about 10 rides before the line got longer. We also skipped the ventriloquist show and the duck was empty at about 6 pm for even more rides.
I thought aside from the pool it wasn't so crowded. I thought maybe the boat wasn't full.
Loved Castaway Cay the most though my daughter wasn't so happy with the stingrays initially as she got bit. She was surprised but ok. But once we were swimming with them she was good.
Only downside was the snorkeling trail was a little too far out for my kids to do but my husband went out and enjoyed it.
Everyone was so nice!
I did feel very underdressed. Seemed like each night everyone was super dressy. I don't know if that is the norm or because of all the weddings. I saw 4 brides Tuesday and 2 on Castaway Cay. There may have been more. Next time I will bring something fancier than a sundress.

Well, the maximum number of ACTUAL weddings for a 7-night is 3 (two on board, one on CC) - I'd imagine maybe 1 and 1 for a 4 night. So it seems like there was much schlepping of wedding dresses for pictures. Just a side note.

Usually I've found shorter cruises more on the casual side, so if "everyone" was super dressy, IMHO that is an anomaly.

My guess is the feeling of dressiness is very personal. I don't find sundresses for women and dress pants & button downs dressy. However, my husband does. We make an interesting pair on evenings out in the summer.

Anyway, I found most people on our 4 nights dressed as I describe, and my husband commented that he was surprised how many people dressed up for dinner. I did see people in shorts and tshirts, but I don't know that that was the majority. Then again, I also didn't spend a lot of time looking at other people's clothes.

I felt like it varied greatly. There were some who were very dressed up, each night and others that were in what I consider normal/casual such as capris, sundresses, khaki shorts for guys, etc. since it varied so much, I didn't really feel out of place. Plus our table mates were very similar in attire. That may have helped :)

We did not do the embarkation photo. Sorry - I think it was a picture of the Dream?

We have 2 boys, so we did not do the princess meet & greet. However the tickets for our CC excursion were already in our room, along with the invitations for Pirate's League.

What is the invitation to Pirate's league please? We are going on our first cruise in 1 month, which we booked last minute on the Dream for 4 nights...I feel like I am scrambling to figure everything out!

Thanks!

We booked a pirates makeover for the boys through bibbidi bobbidi. The cheapest one - they loved it!

The underdressed part worries me a bit for our cruise in two weeks. I was only planning on bringing slacks and a top like I usually wear to work.

that is fine! will there be people more dressed up? probably. will there be people more casual? probably.

wear what you are comfortable in and what makes you happy - as long as it meets the very loose guidelines.

I wouldn't worry - there is such a variance that you will not stick out! The first night I wore capris and top, 2nd night was formal - wore a long summery dress, 3rd night was pirate, wore a lularoe dress (very casual) and the 4th night I just wore capris and a tshirt. :)

I noticed all the dressy folk while we were waiting for photos in the lobby and that is where I felt out of place being casually dressed. During the day, everyone was casual. Seemed like a lot of large groups/families were taking advantage of the portrait sessions. I did see brides in gown getting shots (saw one in the kids club, too) and what looked like bridal parties. Maybe not all of them got married on the boat but they were getting pics.
I could see families using those formal shots for Holiday cards so I think it is worth it to bring one dressy outfit for all if you plan on waiting for the portraits and have a photo package. They do a nice job.
