My friend and I went to the Nick Jonas concert last night (yes, we are too old to like the Jonas Brothers!!)

Anyways, we didn't care about the opening act so we got there late and the show was about to start. No one was in the back of the theater and then we notice a big group of body guards with Mr. Jonas and Selena Gomez!! She looks SO different in person! She is super tall and not as cute as on TV!

Also, I've met a lot of celebrities in my time but she was not a very nice one. It was just me and a friend looking at her to see if it was really her and she kept covering her face and "hiding" behind the bodyguards. Then we asked for a picture and she put her hand over her face and said "Sorry girls!" in a not very nice tone of voice. Seriously no one was around...the show started probably 30 seconds after this all happened and they snuck her to her seat as the lights turned off.

Just thought this was weird and wanted to share...she seems like she would be really sweet but I guess not?

:confused3 Maybe she wasn't "made up" and was afraid the photo would be plastered everywhere? If she was super embarrassed, it may account for the weird behavior.

I too would have thought she would be nice in person.

That's interesting. You're the first person that I've heard that's met her and said she was anything but nice. Everyone says she's super sweet and really friendly.

Maybe she was having an off day? Maybe she was afraid of the rumors (concerning her personal/romantic life) sure to come about her being at the Nick J show? Who knows?

I have met her several times she is from my hometown and she was always very nice. She went to school at the same school my kids went to and lived in our old neighborhood and always seemed very down to earth .

But fame will do odd things to people. I have known Dr Phil for years and he has changed alot with the fame .

Why should she have to stop and let you take a picture 30 seconds before the performance started? She was being "handled" and obviously they wanted to get her seated without any fanfare. I think it was rude of you to approach her.

We did not approach her in a rude way, we very very considerate..there are nicer ways to say no to people! Fame WILL do weird things to people, you are right. I was just kind of disappointed. My favorite celebrity is Justin Timberlake but I NEVER want to meet him because if he was rude it would just break my heart!

I recently also met Demi Lovato who was just a sweetheart!

I agree! I would have stopped looking at her as soon as I realized she was covering her face and ducking behind security! She was clearly there on personal time and not for a public appearance.

Maybe she was short with you because she felt you shoud have taken the hint then and not gone on to ask for her picture!

Are you sure it was really her? I googled her and every place says she is only 5'5". That is hardly tall, let alone super tall. :confused3

Celebrities are (usually) people too. People aren't always in their best appearance or want to be in the spotlight. I don't see the big deal.

If I had to be this perfect person 24/7 always signing autographs and smiling at a moment's whim, I'd go insane!

The whole looking at her to see who she was, her covering her face and hiding, and us asking for a picture all happened within about 30 seconds. I'm sorry it seems as if we were hanging around pestering her. I thought since no one else was around and because we were older that maybe she would take a photo really quickly.

And as for being 5'5''...she was wearing tall heels and I am really short so to me that is tall! She just looks so tiny on TV!

It sounds like she did not want to have her picture taken and was just trying to get to her seat, not trying to be mean. Obviously she was trying not to be recognized, hence the hiding. That should have been your clue that she did not want a picture. I don't understand approaching celebrities in public and asking them for their picture. could understand if they were doing some kind of meet and greet, like at the stage door after a show, but they should be able to enjoy a concert or other event without having people ask them for pics or autographs.

As for the rude thing- I'm assuming it was noisy there. It could be that she was simply trying to talk loud enough for you to hear her. It is very hard to talk loudly and not sound rude. I encounter that all the time at the theme park I work at when trying to talk over our insanely loud autospiel. I'm not trying to be rude, but I'm afraid that is how the tone comes across as that is the only way I can be heard in the station. It could just be that.

Maybe she just wanted to go to a concert and support her friend without being bothered?

:confused3 I don't know who that is....

She is an actress (Disney Channel's Wizards of Waverly Place) and singer. I love her, but I do think she is a much better actress than singer.

Well she was at the show in Detroit also Saturday night and everyone was saying that she didnt want to talk to anyone or take any photos..
