After seeing a picture of myself along side my athletic, gymnastic sister-in-law my self-concept is blown.
I thought I was much more athletic in my body type than revealed in the photo.
Yesterday, my chest felt funny while I was shopping
(kind of like an uncomfortable pressure) and I'm going to call my doctor on Monday to have her check it out.
I need to make myself as healthy as possible to set a good example for my darling little ones
love
S 10 and DD 2) and to improve the chances I will be here as long as they need me.
I have been toying with buying Wii EA Active - but hesitated because I didn't stick too long with the Wii Fit. I've read reviews on line
, picked it up in several stores - then put it down before I bought it.
Well, today after viewing THE PICTURE, I got the picture and bought the game. My DS helped me set it up and encouraged me
all the way through day 1 routine. "Mom, you are doing great" "You really ARE good at this". What a sweet fellow. Still young enough to be sincere with these comments.
I took the "Medium" option for the workout. Walking, Jogging, some bicep curls, some lunges some boxing, inline skating - all in 22 minutes. I was sweating but not out of breath at the end of the program.
DS gave it a go and the program customized the workout to his size, so I know it does not give everyone the same routine. I liked being able to move through the exercises quickly. Today I am pleased with my performance.
About me:
I'm 40 (that freaks me out), married for 11 years to a sweet, supportive
guy, have 2 kids DS10 and DD 2, and teach school
for a living. I'm on summer break until mid-August.
Weight this AM was 153
Height 5'6"
My BMI hovers at the top of the healthy range according to Wii Fit.
My goals:
1. Complete the EA Active 30 day challenge.
2. Eat a heart-healthy diet (a la South Beach phases 1 and 2)
3. Lose 10 pounds
4. Post here daily
WISH me luck and thanks in advance for the encouragement.
Oh - comments are welcome
