I agree with everyone. It depends on the child. I have always loved the haunted mansion since i was very young. But my brother on the other hand was afraid of it. Since baby swapping really wasnt around when me and my brother were young my parents would make him ride. Now we arent like those other crazies, he wasnt kicking and screaming and throwing a fit, my parents would not do that. He was just nervous and didnt like that it was dark. So instead we would tell him to be a Ghostbuster!
But yeah I dont think the ride is scary at all. I think the only part that is "scary" is the scene where the heads pop out of the graveyard. It gets me everytime. And if one child doesnt want to ride but the other children do, you can baby/child swap. Just mention it to the CM and they will help you out.
