Just Heard Air Force One Pass Over Us

We were sitting at work and all of a sudden heard several loud sounds. Everyone went outside to look at what was going on. Then we realized it must have been the jets flying overhead. President Bush is giving the Commencement Address in just a little bit at LSU. It's so exciting that he's this close, I wish I could be there today. Congratulations to all the graduates too.

I work at the old AFB where Air Force One lands when Bush comes home to Crawford. Although the new has worn off some, it's still neat to think that I'm this close to the President (and so many dignataries!) so often!

When Bush was in Buffalo recently, my BIL brought my nephew near the airport so he could see AF1 come in. And unexpectedly, his limo passed right by them and the Prez waved to my 6 yr. old nephew. He didn't stop talking about it for days.

How cool is that! I can still remember when he was running for President and he went to my DD's school. His limo went right by our house! Of course that was before he was the President.

I was stuck on the runway tarmac one because AF1 was landing.
No flights in or out when it is landing or taking off

Yeah, it was really neat when we realized what was going on. It gave me "goosebumps". I'm sure they'll be showing parts of it on the noon news. I'm gonna try to watch on my lunch break in a few minutes.

My dad called me on the way in to work and said he could see Air Force One clearly at Ryan, er, Metro Airport (whatever they are calling it these days!). I wish he would have had his camera handy today though. I remember seeing it here on a stop also when Clinton was Pres.

Nice to have some good news in our town for a change!

Oh on a side note, everytime my dd sees a limo now she thinks the President is here.

I work right next to the runway at the Buffalo Airport, yes AFO is mighty impressive. What was even more impressive is the sharp turn they made right over the tunnel. The wings passed right over the cars which were sitting there until the security released them. Everyone got out of their cars to watch. Many had camera's and some had their kids with them. Bet they were might excited.

Oh lets face it everyone was excited to see this. :thewave:

I was crossing an overpass over the interstate and there was a policeman parked on top of it...they were waiting for Bush to head into New Orleans...nothing like having the whole interstate closed...
