Just got back from WDW and had a great time. I read many of the strings on this board and gained a new knowledge. Anyway this was so great I just had to share.

While in line for the Lion King Adventure at AK, saw a family with a little girl in a wheel chair. She already had her face painted but looked a little tired. As we walked into the amphitheater, this same family ended up sitting in the same section as my DH and I. If you haven't seen the show, I don't want to ruin it, but there is a part in the finale were the dancers pull kids out of each of the four sections to play instruments and promenade around all the activity. Well this one dancer pulled her out (with her parents permission of course) and put her at the front of the line of all the other kids! She put an instrument in her hands and pushed her all around the theater. You should have seen the smile on her face! I don't know if that is something that they always do, but I just thought it was so thoughtful for that dancer to treat her just like all the other kids. It totally made my day.

I'm planning to send a letter to WDW to give that dancer a guest compliment, but I just thought I'd share.

Thanks for sharing what you saw. I'm sure that dancer made the child's day. I have seen them pick children with disabilities before and I think it's nice for the kids to be just kids.

They frequently pick children in wheelchairs. I do notice that kids with invisible disabilities are frequently skipped unless they are pointed out. I also have seen the interpreters point out a deaf kid when they have seen the child at other interpreted shows during the week.

What a nice story to share! Thank you! Ihave seen this done at the Festival of the Lion King show. Isn't it nice?

When you write your letter try to be as specific as possible - who, what, when, where. It helps identify the CM who did something nice. One time we wentto Guest Services & wrote up a CM (compliments). On our next visit, the CM recognized us & thank us for the nice note as it was now in his personnel file.

They chose my ds once. I helped him walk with the CM. He shook some noisemaker & smiled all day. He doesn't talk, but he pulls out our video & watches it over & over. (He has to show everyone) The CM will probably never know how much it meant to him/us to be asked to join in the show.
