Just had LONG talk with supervisor about codes

I can't argue with your experience.. But you know of course there are THREE three letter codes.

One for room only..

One for room & tickets

And one for Room, Tickets and Dining.

Everyone talks about THE code.. but there are THREE. And you have to the use the one applicable to your situation. Use the wrong code on the wrong package (regardless of dates) -- no discount will appear.

And I'm presuming that you are being flexible with your resort request?

The Holy Trinity of the Three Forbidden Codes

We can start a religion.

I was thinking that but hesitating to mention it. There seems to be a trend that AP holders may not be getting this discount no matter what they do..

That's interesting.

As for your note about the animosity this situation is creating. It's unfortunate but passions run high around around all things Disney and when it comes to Disney and saving money -- the passions run even higher because the original retail prices are so high to start with...

\\Yep, any mod or deluxe. I have tried all 3 codes, usually more than one in a phone call. The thing is, as soon as the CM hears the code, they remark that it is a pincode only, for specific targeted households. They look into it for me, to see if I have a pincode I just never received, but they find none. Each call went slightly differently, but the vast majority of the times, they definitely stated right away that the codes only match pincodes. It's just not meant to be. Well, mid August would be better for us anyway, so I will go back to waiting for an August deal.

It is rather interesting, isn't it? There are certainly a few of us AP holders who are told No, but there are also AP holders who DID get to use the code!

About booking procedures, the CM I talked to the last time told me that the 3-letter code is the code they use if you call them instead of the number on the postcard. They get the popup for your pincode, and change your quote using the 3 letter code. That is why they are the same deal.

Oh, about the AP thing. Mine is a voucher...not even a renewal, since my AP expired quite some time ago. I bought it at The Disney Store, so I am relatively sure CRO doesn't know I even have an AP.

Well it certainly could be that you just had the luck of reaching 6 or 10 CMs' who actually honored the way the promotion was originally planned. :(

I'd appreciate any pointers you could make to an AP holder who DID get to use the code. I can't recall any.

J

If I knew how to post a poll, I would ask who was able to book a trip with the code with or without a pin.

Anyone? I'm curious how many people actually booked trips on here.

Just my luck, huh? I get the Rule Followers!!

LOL.

Everyone wish some pixie dust for August my way, please!!

A post in another thread indicates that concierge level rooms for early December under this discount are GONE.

I'm starting to wonder if all the rooms for this discount in early December are gone.

CandianGuy-not sure if I am reading your question correct
"Any AP holders able to use rate"? If that is right, I am an AP and was able to use the room only code. I was also offered BOTH of the other codes.

And the reservation is in YOUR name and YOU are the season passholder?

Ok.. that rules out that theory.

methinks there IS no theory. I think we should have a poll about how many calls to CRO it took to book with the code. I know the advice the first few days was to keep calling back.

Boom:

****There's your problem! ****

Your checkin date MUST fall on one of the days in the promo.. or you have to check out on the third day and make a new reservation.

It really is that simple. Call back and ask about a reservation starting on December 9th. You will find the code applies at least at certain resorts.

Anyone who has gotten extra days out of the promo.. got them on the END of their vacation .. not the start. Go back and check the posts if you don't believe me. I've followed this like a hawk and NOBODY has gotten the promo on dates that start outside the ranges applicable. My post explaining everything about the codes explains this -- and has since I posted it.

J

I also concur on this. I tried to book today and didn't realize that my travel dates were not within the target dates. While August 15th is considered a WWOD date, it is not a target date for the code. The wonderful CM I had tried everything and every code to apply to my rate, but nothing would change my rate. I had a pin code with in my adult daughter's name (an AP holders) and I had a pin code in my adult son's name and we even tried them. (they are traveling with us on that trip). I was also told I had several promotion codes tied to my name and address too. So the code would not work since I was not within the target date of Aug 21. So I got the postcards and the pin numbers, but can't use any of them. Of well, sometimes things work out, and sometimes they don't. Folks need to pay attention to the target dates listed. Also, I believe there are some dates that are probably already sold out. I would be happy with the free dining code myself.

Just a thought, but here goes. Disney has been known to offer upsell rates, where the better deal will just pop up on the CMs screen. Is it possible that this is what is happening. It is just luck of the draw if the offer pops up when you call? I know lots of people who have been offered upsells, I never have in 10 years of visiting. I did recieve a postcard from Disney in January, not for the 40% off though. When I first called to check availability with the 40 % off, I was told it was not available to me. When I called asking to book with code XXX, the CM did find the discount available for me. Could it be a pop up thing?

n2mm : Will you please used your pin code and call and book the rooms for BoomH -- I feel badly.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Hey, me too, me too! (oh wait, someone already tried for me -- they couldn't get it for me either.) Its ok, really!! I won't cry!! :sad1:

Just don't forget my pixie dust for mid-August!!

Beth

And yes.. let's all hope for TinkerBell to spread some pixie dust on poor Beth! She totally needs and deserves it after all this!

What number is the best one to call? Is that in your post candianguy?

I am also irked by how the discounts are applied. I'm not so annoyed that we didn't get a pin, but that some CMs are giving the discounts to people and some are not. Our dates are within the travel range, and our TA was even able to book for us, but then didn't, possibly because a supervisor at Disney or her agency stepped in (I'm not exactly sure what happened).

I tried myself twice with no luck, and got paranoid that they were tracking my calls so I stopped.

As for the person who says Disney deserves this for sending out random discounts, well, I'm sure they aren't random! Marketing departments do not just draw names out of a hat.

Ok, I was curious so I called to see if they would let me book (I'm going next year, NO way of going this year). I called and asked for package quote. I said I wanted Aug 16-21, two adults, hopper and waterpark on my ticket for 5 days. I asked for WL Woods view (after being given room choices). She quoted me $2081.42. I asked her if this was with 40% off the room and she said yes. I also asked her if I had any pins on my name that would give a better discount and she said no. THEN I went to WDW site. The SAME package on WDW with NO discount is CHEAPER! It came out to $1961.52. So how many people who got the code compared it to the site? I find it odd that a 40% code is MORE!

Are you booking the dining plan? I was told when I made my reservation that you had to include the dining plan to get the discount (I understand there is also a code for room only, but that is not the code I used).

this is what I was told too...

I was only allowed to use a code for a package deal (kinda equal to free dining if you ask me....)

so I went ahead because we do it that way anyway.

We even get great airfare from WDW travel...last year 129 on Air Tran from KC!!

so...he told me NO for the room only but I could use the code for the package.

I did not give him a PIN but he looked up my name and address and said

"you qualify for this one..."

as I have been pretty lucky in the PIN codes before...

saving me 30% on room only for March with PIN
