Just had LONG talk with supervisor about codes

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Hey, me too, me too! (oh wait, someone already tried for me -- they couldn't get it for me either.) Its ok, really!! I won't cry!! :sad1:

Just don't forget my pixie dust for mid-August!!

Beth

Hey, don't forget me! I'm not even picky. I'll take any date in Nov or Dec (except the weeks of Thanksgiving or Christmas). I've told the CMs this every time I've called and still get the same spiel 'This is a pin code, not a general code and you don't qualify for it'. I wonder if it's because I'm an AP holder or if it's because I already have other trips booked for May '07 and late Sept '07 (Bounce back program)? All I know is that on principle alone I'm tempted to cancel both my May and late Sept trips, send them my AP (cut in half), and then book at Universal. Like Boomhauer it's not about the money now, but about the principle. If it's a general code then we all should be able to get it.

If anyone tries today, post it! I still can't believe, in all the days they were still booking it for everyone, I couldn't get a SINGLE CM who would book for me. Man, if it weren't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any at all.

(I know, I am saving all my luck to get a great rate for when I REALLY wanted to travel!)

Beth

I was thinking that but hesitating to mention it. There seems to be a trend that AP holders may not be getting this discount no matter what they do..

That's interesting.

As for your note about the animosity this situation is creating. It's unfortunate but passions run high around around all things Disney and when it comes to Disney and saving money -- the passions run even higher because the original retail prices are so high to start with...

J

I am an AP holder and i was able to get the discount, simply by telling them what i wanted and then asking if code *** applied.

Too bad our trips are a couple months apart. Our families could meet up and walk around with "Rack Rate Losers" printed on our shirts.

BWAH-HA-HA-HA!

My dates are gonna be for whenever Disney lets me book at a discount!! Perhaps I'll see you there!

Was the intent of those that requested to speak with a Supervisor to have the ressy's of those that got the discount canceled? I've been reading through the various threads and it seems like there is an awful lot of jealousy on these boards. Congrats to those that got the discount and for those that didn't may a discount code come your way soon.

This is my families first trip...so, I am new to all of this. Just booked last night at "rack rate." I am hoping & praying for a discount to come along...because I feel as if our trip is kind of pricey. I hope that this 40% code doesn't reflect on whether another discount will be given later this year!

I agree, there seems to be a overlying theme if "if i cant get it then no one can" so ill call and make a stink until everyones gets cancelled.
Thats why i usually lurk, between thaem and the "If you didnt get a postcard youre a theif" people its gets a little too holy in here.

I just called and received the same spiel I've received every time I've called this week, that it's a pin # assigned to a certain person's account and can't be used by the general public'. I told her I knew ALOT of people had booked it without receiving an email or post card and were being told it is a general code. She said "that's not possible" and was unable to get any of of the three letter codes to work. The dates I had her checking were Dec 15th-22nd for any resort. I finally asked for a supervisor and was transferred to guest services where 'Christian' arrived on the phone already defensive. I was really surprised at his attitude as soon as he said hello. Knowing you catch more flies with honey I was very sweet and polite, but after asking where I had heard about the codes, he rather abruptly said Disney had no control over what is posted on 'unofficial sites, but there is no way discounted rates will be honored if that family does not have a PIN attached to their profile and you can rest assured Disney is checking into the matter'. The first CM did say that they had 'alot of new CMs on the floor'.

I would think that people who talked with supervisors were just trying to book the deal, not get others' bookings cancelled. many People who booked without having pincodes are pretty insistent on here that this is really a general public code, and that the CMs who are telling some of us "No" are the ones who are wrong. So perhaps some that are being turned down are asking for a supervisor out of frustration that the CMs are not giving them the GENERAL discount too??

I am not jealous that some got this pincode deal without a pincode, and I didn't. I am frustrated, however, because I was desperate for a decent discount and keep getting shot down while others keep getting to book!! If I end up with a decent discount in the end, I am happy. Doesn't have to be THIS discount.

Exactly.

Actually, I wasn't asking to speak to a supervisor to get the discount. I just wanted to find out what in the heck was going on.

I don't know why. But it really bothers me when Disney lets things like this happen. I have a feeling even if I had gotten a code, after reading all these posts, I still would have called and wanted to know what was going on.

I agree! I am happy for those that got the discount, but again if it is truly a general public discount like so many are saying then I believe we should all be able to get it. I'm flexible with my dates, know all three of the three letter codes, and still can't get anything for Nov or Dec at any resorts even though I've made many calls to different CMs in the last week. I keep hearing the same thing every time: that I don't qualify because it's a code that is attached to a specific household. I don't want anyone else's discount changed or canceled, I just want my own.

you may be right, but my guess is that the typical person that visits these boards understood that this was a pin discount and were trying to sneak in a ressy. I know I did and I attempted it on several occassions with no luck, I'm happy for the ones that got it and for those of us that didn't let's hope that one comes our way, if not OH WELL just wasn't meant to happen this trip. I still say that the majority of those that asked to speak to a supervisor were doing it to complain about those that got the discount, just my oppinion, and yours is respected as well.

If it was a General public code then why isn't it being applied to everyone that calls? just because someone states that it is a GP code doesn't make it official, as i've stated I find it hard to believe that people honestly believe that the code is not a pin code? just read the various threads it's not even worth debating, it is a PIN CODE.

Reading a lot of the posts on these threads, many many people who booked without having a pincode are rather insistent that they "really believe" this must be for the general public. Some have even insinuated that those of us who are being told NO must be trying to book for ineligible or sold out dates. So either they are trying to convince themselves, or they are truly believing they got a General Public Discount.

I'm still trying to figure out what code the are referring to, a large number of the posters state that they got park hoppers and dining, those codes are already out there for ticket upgrades, so my question would be how many of these are just Room only reservations? looking at another thread that just started today stating that people are getting the code backs this up even more, most of them refer to park hoppers and dining, isn't that code available to everyone? and it's not a discount on the room just adds the water parks and park hopping.

The ticket upgrade is a different thing altogether. The one people are talking about all over here is 40% off the room portion of a package. All kinds of dates even in December!

Beth

WEHAVEM:

No. There is no free dining. That is not a code that is out there.

Three codes in this promotion do the same thing. They take 40% off the room portion of your bill You can have room only or add tickets or add tickets and dining but you are paying the normal rate for those add-on items.

There is another promotion for April 15 to June 03 that gives you free park hopping and waterparks fun & more options on your base tickets. That IS a public code but it is only available for those dates.

It's confusing as all get out and frankly.. frustrating that this is such a mess.
