I just called WDW to see if I had any pin codes. I did have one for May 23-27 and for Nov 13-19 and the middle of Dec, the normal 25, 30, and 35% off ones but I didnt have anything for Oct, 20-31st.

She told me to book my Oct trip now and make sure I called back on March 1 as early as I could. When I asked why she said they are releasing all kinds of new pin codes but she couldnt say what they are but they should make me very happy. She said WDW is giving out OT to all the reservationists next week to handle the overflow of calls they are expecting.

She also mentioned to check my email this weekend as well as my mail for tomorrow and Monday as they will send the info that way, just in case I forget to call in. She verified all the email addresses I have as well as my husbands so we didnt miss it.

I did book 11 nights at the POFQ in a king bed with AAA for $2026 for room only. The Dolphin king room would have cost me $1988 with AAA, makes more sense to stay there but we love WDW resorts and hopefully that price will go down when the discounts come out. Who knows, maybe I will wind up doing a split stay?

The CM also said that WDW is going to be shying away from the general public receiving the same discounts as the AP holders and FL residents. Yes they will still receive a discount but it will be less than the AP and FL residents.

That is good news to me!

Interesting!!!

After reading about the March 1 codes being for July/August travel, I decided to just call this afternoon during DD's nap to schedule our October 9-14 trip now and not bother with waiting anymore. We can still call back if FD dining comes out and try to get it if rooms are available. We're going regardless.

Now I'm a little bit more optimistic though!

Very Interesting................I just today decided to give up on hopeing for a discount for October, I am currently booked end of September/Oct, now I am wondering of course once more if there is a chance, not sure if I can even get a BCV now for late Oct since F&W will be in full force.........oh what to do :confused3

I hope the March 1st party includes release of AP rates for beyond April 16. :cheer2:

I'm booked at POFQ Oct. 15-21, and would love to upgrade to AKL (primarily because my DH wants to go to Boma, Jiko AND Sanaa!). Can't without a discount. So I'll be checking this weekend!

Very interesting. Thanks for the info !!!

I did every trick in the book to try and get a pin sent to me for the first week of october, but nothing. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to be there for my sons birthday, but honestly, we switched to the last week in Sept for the % off savings. Would love to have a discount so we could switch back.

We are going Oct 15th-23rd and need a pin or AP discount to upgrade resorts. Now I will be stalking our mailman for these elusive pins.

Trying to figure out where the best discount is! Is it better to have AP or pin code? Off the top of my head it seems the AP would be best if you go twice a year and use AP rate for room. Anything I'm missing here? Thanks...

I'm hoping for the same thing. I did receive a AP Pin email that I was able to take advantage of for a quick trip in October for the Food & Wine Fest, but I'm hoping for a late July AP discount.

I'm hoping for an AP discount because I'll then get TiW. I prefer that to DDP. But if no Ap discount, I won't get an AP, and no TiW.

Princess, I see what you are saying. What's the difference between a posted AP discount and an AP pin code?

I called Disney Reservations, I didn't have a code, but perhaps theres a better source.

Was this CM just talking about pins for FL residents, do you think?

Would like to know the answer to this as well.
Am just starting to "get" Disney Math and all that goes along with it. I swear, sometimes I feel so dense... But the light bulb IS getting a little brighter day by day...:rotfl:
Thanks to everyone on these boards who take the time to answer these questions and share your knowledge.:disrocks:

Me too! I went ahead and booked both my April 30th-May 8th and my Sept 24th-Oct 2nd trips with the GP discount, but am really hoping for a better AP discount. My problem is that the 45 day mark is coming up in just a couple of weeks for my April/May trip and if an AP code doesn't come out by then, we'll have to pay a change fee if one does comes out later.

A regular AP discount will be a three letter code that will be posted here on the DIS, on Mousesavers, and on other sites. Any AP holder can call and use it. An AP Pin Code is a code Disney sends out (by regular mail or email) to just specific AP holders and only they can use it.

Thanks Aubriee! So since I don't have the AP yet, I can't expect to get the AP pin code! Makes sense to me!

We've been Premium AP holders for almost two years now and have never received a PIN. :sad1:

I think I'm gonna call Disney and ask why!

ETA: I called. CM said it's marketing that handles PINs, I don't have any available, and he doesn't know why I've never been offered any. He did confirm that I do have the best available offers for our next two stays (AP room discount w/Deluxe Dining).

As DH says... you'd think with all the money we've spent visiting WDW and now cruises as well you'd think they could at least give us free dining now and then!
