Hello everyone, we just returned from a fun trip to DLR. I have been to DLR many times, Halloween and Christmas are my favorite times to go, the decorations are so fun! We did make it to the Halloween Party.
We had myself, DH and DS(6) and his friend who is 9. I originally planned on staying at BW Raffles but I am currently in a scooter for health reasons and wanted something closer to DLR so Ramada Maingate is where we ended up at. It is very convenient, pretty much across the street there on Harbor.
I paid for a Premium view and that was a waste of money, 85% of the hotel rooms have fireworks view outside their door to the room. I had room 434, 2 queen beds that were comfy, the A/C worked great. The tub in the bathroom was a bit older and didn't have anything to cover the drain. The room was clean, however 1 day out of our 7 night stay we did not get any service, not really sure why, after a day at the park I was to tired to deal with it, my sisters room next to me did not get service either. The internet wouldn't work in our room, but was fine by the office and pool. The breakfast was simple, but that was fine with us. The pool was fun and perfect for all ages, my nephew is 3 and the shallow area was great for him. Parking was tight, we had a truck and my sister had a midsize car, sometimes it was very hard to find parking. Check and and check out staff was fast and friendly. Laundry was the standard $2 to wash, $2 to dry and we had no issues with any machines other then the dryer worked better then most I have used at other hotels.
So pretty much this was a nice economy hotel at a higher price, just paying more for the location.
