We got back yesterday and just had to say a few things:
Crowds during the weekends were big, the most crowded I'd ever seen Cal Adventure. M-W was fine, not too crowded.
Stayed in Grand Cal, highly recommended. It just made everything easier. I know it's expensive, but we have a little one so it was nice.
Because we were at Grand Cal, we did the hotel guest tour at 9:15, parks open at 9:30 so we got in 15 minutes early. DH and DDad did Soaring over Cal (I think the ride is silly) so I stayed with DS who is too little. I went to the main plaza about 1 minute before opening and watched the stampeed enter the park. It's a site to behold.
Also, they're running ToT at 9:30 as well as Soarin', so try to do both first.
DS loves Heimlich Chew Chew ride, highly recommended for the under 5 crowd. He also loved Playhouse Disney live on stage, again, big for the under 5 crowd. Also, you must go into the Disney Animation area and go to the Sorcerers Workshop. I didn't know about it, we stumbled upon it and it was great.
Cruella D'Ville (sp?) is really funny, I watcher her a lot at CA. Little girls with Snow White and Cinderlla outfits were having their pictures taken with Cruella and Cruella said "Apparently they were out of my gown? Is that why you're not wearing it?" She was so funny. Althought I think she scared some of the very little ones.
DL is more magical than CA, but we've done it so many times I skipped most E rides and just focused on the little things we never do. Pooh ride is more clam than the WDW Pooh ride. WDW ride terrified DS, he loved DL Pooh.
We were there for 5 days, 4 nights. Just right amount of time.
Let me know if you have questions.
