I am a Westgate owner (Villas) and of course our skyhigh maintainance/taxes are due. They had called and left a message to c/b, so I did and they said today was the last day to pay before they would add a $25.00 late fee. I have to admit, that was rather nice of them. (We always pay them late b/c we use our state tax refund and last year they ended up sending it to a "collection agency" and adding 200.00 or 300.00 in charges! :earseek: ) We will be calling and pay on the CCard tonight!

Anyway, I double checked to see that our 2004 week was deposited and they said we still have our 2003 week to use!!! We have to use it by June 30 or we will lose it! I am so glad I called.

We have some friends who are going to probably rent a week this year, but I think they might not want it until July. We were planning on going this fall, but we got the kids school schedule for 2005-06 and there aren't any breaks longer than 1 day except at the major holidays and DH isn't wanting to take DD who will be in 4th grade out of school for a whole week. (I personally don't see anything wrong w/ it, but that's another story!! LOL!) Anyway, I was thinking about going the 2nd or 3rd week in June. I have always said I wouldn't go during the summer, but if it is going in June or not going at all, I will take June!!

That gives us an extra week to use or either rent and use the $ towards the trip!! We will use the rent $ from our friends to pay off the CCard.

Just wanted to share my happy news and give an example of Westgate not being b***holes!!

hey I still remember back to when Westgate let you pay the fees when you arrived - not this in advance stuff -they require now. (my week is in Nov - so having to pay in Dec - it is almost a year before)

Okay sorry about that - I can always find something wrong with Westgate - not fair to you at all.

yes it was decent of them to call you.

after you deposit your week with II (Interval International) you have a couple of years to use it.

do where are you depositing your weeks?

spiceycat,

I know what you mean about finding something wrong w/ them! I do have to say, though, the 2 people I talked w/ today actually sounded like they knew what they were talking about and were very friendly and professional.

We had deposited those weeks w/ Westgate, not II. Right now that membership has lapsed just b/c we don't need them! LOL!

DH wasn't too happy about having to pay the maint. and taxes even if they did call us to save us 25.00. He is really big on not using the CCard and we already have some Christmas stuff and car repairs on there now. We would just really like to get rid of this thing and DH doesn't understand how hard it is. I need to get him to look on TUG or some of the other websites and show him how much inventory is out there. We did check on donating the unit to our church, but our accountant said that they would have to sell it before we could get the deduction, so that won't work. DH is just thinking about the $600.00+ that we paid that could go to a vacation home in Orlando (just b/c were going this year) or towards the accomadation charges for another location.

I'm at least glad to know someone is in this same boat!!

Thanks for replying!!
