and the approximate wait time is over 30 minutes!! :crazy2: :headache: :sad:

Is this normal?!? Because this is nuts! :crazy:

It's normal for Mondays to be busy.

Believe we are also approaching the 7 month mark for the week before President's Day next February. Maybe there are lots of people calling day by day trying to get in to a non-home resort. Many schools have that week or the next off.

I called earlier today, and, knowing that Mondays can be busy for Member Services, was pleased that I didn't have to wait much more than ten minutes.....
 

That's interesting, because I called about the same time, and I only waited about 30 seconds! I rarely have waited more than a few minutes.
 
This is what can happen when you have people calling day by day. It is nuts that people call day by day, not nuts that you have to wait because of it.
 
I called this morning for VWL at 11 month window and got thru on one ring. I think the CM needed a cup of coffee though. Must be a Monday morning!
 
I had a wait of less than 3 min. Can't get much better :tongue:

That was my first thought too-"let's hope for cancellation for BWV BW 1 BR the first week of January". Then I felt a little guilty-I'm really sorry when people have to cancel trips they don't want to cancel. But....[with fingers crossed]
 
I called just before this...got disconnected once ( I was selected for the survey then ended up getting to the survey w/o my call ever being taken) then waited less than 2 min. for my second call. I've never had more than a wait of 10 min. or so.

We got a studio at OKW for the 25th and 26th....my spoiled dh gets to spend his birthday at WDW again!
 
I totally agree with Pa@OKW95-this is the problem with people calling day by day. I have been a member since 1994 and have never had to do day by day reservations! Even for peak season! I have never had to wait for 30 minutes-so this seems wrong! 11 months and 7 months from holiday season-I have had to wait 10 minutes, but its toll-free so I did not mind.

Well I'm one who calls day to day to book those hard to get standard views and grand villa accomodations at the boardwalk. I'm sorry but if you don't, the reservations can be split and I have no intention of moving mid trip. Don't say it can't happen because it did to some one I know at the 11th month window for 1st week of Dec. So sorry it upsets you but I don't intend to change.
 
We usually go to BWV at Christmas and one year couldn't get the first night that we requested and ended up staying at VWL and then moving over to the BWV the next day. And this was done with calling day by day....which I will continue to do as long as I go at Christmas time.

I tend to believe that the 30 minute wait was not because of people booking their trip day by day, but because it being a Monday morning....I have been on hold on a Monday morning planning for trips other than at Christmas (and not booking day by day) and had to wait a long time.

Did you hang up when you got that message? Is it possible that the recording did say "30 seconds" and you misheard it as minutes?
 
I had a 5-6 minute wait today too. But I am at home, so not a big deal. Once I was asked to hold for 5 minutes I counted on my fingers and realized that there were probably a lot of calleds for Feb 7mon windows. Hey that's part of it...as DVC gets bigger, sometimes we will have to wait for high volume times. I would rather wait, then pay for extra staff that might be under utilized. (IMHO) Think of the $$$ you are saving in annual dues:rolleyes:
 
It is 7 months to Feb school vacations plus it is Monday.
 
Maybe if MS would spread their employees work hours over 6 or 7 days a week instead of having "bankers hours" there wouldn't be so many calls on Monday mornings.

I'm another one and I don't intend to change my MO either.

Calling day by day is absolutely necessary to assure getting a reservation for your first choice of dates and room category for some times of the year - especially at the BWV!
