Just bought re-sale! First time DVC owner!

Hello. I just wanted to tell everyone that I have bought into Boardwalk Villas via the Timeshare Store. I am so excited. It'll take a while to close, but I'm really happy because even though I am not buying enough points to do this, the re-seller had enough points banked in the sale for me to get the 2-bedroom villa that I need for October of this year!

I'll get to buy in and take the vacation with the British in-laws in nicer accommodation's. I can't change my signature yet because I'm pretty sure that I won't be getting into my home resort for a 2-bedroom in October. I'll change it after I have made my first reservation using DVC!

I thought it would take a lot longer to convince my DH, but he said that since we really are a Disney family, it made sense to buy now.

So, you might see me here asking questions as they arise since the DVC is not the simplest of systems...

I'm so excited -- I can't wait to close and get to make my first ressie!

No, I haven't passed ROFR yet, but I don't see any reason why I wouldn't and my agent thinks so as well.

Congrats If you dont mind me asking how many points did you get?

We have become 2 bedroom snobs on our trips. We did 10 days at SSR in a two bedroom and I dont know how we could go back to something smaller. To us it is worth the points to have the larger accomodations.

Congratulations!! I am awaiting closing on my BWV contract and can't wait to make my first trip home.

It's a 150 point contract with 102 banked points from 07 with an April use year and all 150 points coming in April. So, I'll have 252 to use for the 2-bedroom! I'm not looking for a big contract and the banked points made this one more worth-while.

We travel quite a bit and WDW is only one of our travel locations that we love going to, so an 150 point contract is fine for us. We have some flexiblity in when we travel and both my DH and I work together in a family business so time off isn't a problem either.

We have the luxury of paying cash for the contract so we'll have no financing and I don't see the need (right now) in getting any more points and then having to pay more in dues.

I guess I didn't realize that the ROFR was such a big deal...until I started reading some of the other threads... I guess now I'll just have to sit back and enjoy the ride...
