Just Booked a BLT Studio!

Taking my mom, 80 and DD, 6 for a quick bday trip in February. Leaving Fri the 19th- staying in BLT studio, lake view for 3 nights. My first trip to WDW was 1971, stayed in the Contemporary, so this is really a full circle kind of trip. Just us girls, my dd's 3 big brothers will be staying home.....I am so not going to tell them till the last minute!

ANYWAY, given that this is a special trip, looking to do some different things. Thinking Sophie and I will head out to parks early for rope drop, do some rides and meet Grandma for lunch, do some mellow stuff in the afternoon then off to dinner. Thinking of doing Dining Plus or whatever the 3 TS a day for this trip, my mom is VERY picky, no CS stuff for her!

So looking for ideas for restaurants, other things she may enjoy. Flight gets in afternoon on Friday so probably just get settled, do dinner at the California Grill and BLT Members only lounge for fireworks. Sat-Animal Kingdom, Sunday- Sophie and I hit MK early morning then Epcot in the afternoon. Monday morning- Chef Mickey's for Sophie's bday breakfast, over to DTD for shopping and off to the airport.

Thoughts....Ideas?

Enjoy that special birthday! It sounds as if you'll have a very very nice time! Seeing Wishes without having to go into the crowds will be a wonderful experience for your DM. We celebrated my DM's 85th birthday in WDW in 2005, and we brought an DAunt there for her 80th in 2007. Both were wonderful trips and lots of attention was given to the Birthday Gals!

We got the Disney Visa photo of the family with DAunts family. Do they still have that free offer?

Be sure to watch the dining reservation window...its switching sometime in late October to 180 days again...so you will need to be very careful to book the California Grill on the 1st day that you can do so or else chance no room.

How about afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridian? Here's the menu http://allears.net/menu/menu_gft.htm However, I don't believe it's a Dining Plan restaurant. I know children often get chocolate milk or something similar versus actual tea, but it's still served in a tea pot.
