How does having a real Christmas tree work? Do you need to water it, does it have bugs

Okay, confession time. I am not a zombie fan. WBG loves zombies though. I love the storyline of this show is why I watch it.

No, they don't have bugs but they shed needles really bad. And yes, they do need to be watered. I want a live tree that can be planted after the holidays.

You do keep adding water to the stand so that it doesn't get super dry too quick(but that's also why we don't cut ours down too early). Bugs...I've never seen bugs.

It also helps that we are about 15-20 minutes away from the mountains with many Christmas Tree farms. It's just as easy as going to a lot.

Not everyone likes trees. I like the lights and the ornaments.

No, but I have a copy of it, the snowman movie, and the one that tells the story of Santa Clause. Maybe one day soon I can distract the little one with something new.

I used to do that. My daughters still pull out the Christmas videos over the summer and watch them. Christmas in July. Gotta love the nuts.

It's kinda like having a giant plant, the kind you buy at the store and put in a vase. Most tree stands have a "hole" for water and tree food. Years ago a tree would go up in flames because it would dry out and the lights would get very hot. With the lights now-a-days it's not much of a problem but its been known to happen now and again.

Needles are the little things pine trees have.

Normally the tree is in a stand that has a bowl type thing that you put the water in.

I don't like decorating them. Too much to do and I'm a lazy procrastinator. Plus we always have to move furniture and a whole lot to make room for the tree.

I do love to see my cat try and climb it though. I usually see her eyes staring out at me from the middle of the tree.

So right now I am seeing how many layers I can wear to be as warm as possible, without looking like a blimp. Interesting experiment. I want to be toasty at DL!

WBG wears these wicking shirts that are thin but real warm so he can layer his clothes and he doesn't look so bulky.

Full-length leggings, knee high socks, jeans, a camisole, a thermal, and a light sweatshirt. In a heated house... I'm pretty hot. Throw on some gloves and a hat...I think that's about as prepared as I can be. My face will be the only thing thats not covered by at least one layer.

What kind of gloves do you have? I bought some the other day that are longer length and there is no gap between my sleeves and my gloves. And you sound very toasty.
