Just back - those who like FP+ are drinking the Kool Aid.

Exactly, if you don't love it you're a hater or an abuser or obviously don't know what you're talking about.

Us vs. them is just as bad coming from your side of the fence as it is coming from theirs. It's sad some people can't see that.

It's just really getting old

My side of the fence? :confused3

We used FP+ last month and it worked pretty well for us. I'd still like to see some changes before I'll sing its praises. And I've never engaged in the labeling you're talking about.

The bottom line is that there is always going to be mixed views on FP+ since it does change how to approach trip planning and visits. For some it is a significant change to many others it means very little difference. It is simply wrong and rude to be overly critical of any view on FP+ and it is incorrect to make assumptions on who likes FP+ or how many people plan and view their WDW experience.

Plus it will be months perhaps a year before anyone including WDW really has good assessment of the impact of FP+ especially with the continued roll out to all guests, time for all guests to understand and get comfortable with MBs and FB+, and the continued additions and changes to the system that will no doubt occur.

:thumbsup2

Why can't we all just get along and try to figure out how these changes are going to impact our vacations. We don't even know what it's going to look like in the end, how can you love it or hate it?

Speak for yourself when judging FP+ as it didn't work for you while visiting during your Spring Break visit. Had this happened in September then I'd be more understanding.

Can you expand on this thought? I'm not sure that evaluating a new system under conditions when headliners have 20 minute waits and secondary attractions are walk-ons is a better indicator of success or failure than testing the system under more stressful conditions. It seems to me that if FP+ is going to be declared a success, it has to be able to improve one's lot under Spring Break (or Summer, or Thanksgiving, or Christmas) conditions and not just under "slow season" conditions. If you want to test a bridge, you don't walk across it. You send a cement mixer over it. I'm not challenging your positive view of FP+ in the least, and don't read this as me calling you out for liking it. I'm glad you do. I am just curious as to why you think the OP's opinion of it would be more valid if she had tested it out in the slow season.

I just want to go on the record as saying I do not care for kool-aid. I prefer the Stitch punch at O'hana myself. But seriously you have to put things into perspective. If it was spring break what were you expecting. Crowds have never bothered us because we always go expecting it to be wall to wall people. We live in West Texas so the heat is no issue. My family just takes that attitude that this is not a military mission and if we do not see or do everything so what this is a vacation and we just do not let things get us frustrated. We go every other year so if we dont ride or see it this year we will try next time. I personally have not used FP+ yet. We arrive on June first. I plan on giving a blow by blow account of how it works for me and my family of six. In closing I think alot of the frustration with Disney centers on the fact that we expect way too much from them and there is no way they can deliver on all. It is a Magical place but it is not run by Magic. Things happen and remember at least you are not at work!:hippie:

Kind of hard to sympathize with someone complaining of long wait times when they arrive at 10am.

I have been over 30+ times. I've been during spring break and July 4 and other busy times. We normally have a plan to get there at opening and hit as many rides as poss until it just gets too crowded. We went with another family that couldn't ever manage to get there at RD, but each day we were there by 10 am. The lines were INSANE. This is definitely due to FP+. I have seen crowds like this before. But to have 60 min waits for Safari, Buzz, Pirates, etc by 10 am makes the RD to lunch time commando way of doing this IMPOSSIBLE. I don't like FP+. We picked up our tickets at will call so I didn't have to pay to have them shipped to me. That was another 30 min line. Then to get FP+ inside the park there was yet another 30-45min line to then go stand in another line at God only know what time. WHY does this make sense to anyone? FP- wasn't broken. They had 5-7 kiosks at each ride for FP- and now they might have 7 total kiosks to do them ALL. AND now the wifi is awful. So many people on it that we couldn't even get the wait times app to work. Disney - PLEASE DROP THIS - it is awful. This will definitely reduce or eliminate our visits. They made a lot of $$ off my family as we like to stay in the nicer resorts. How anyone cannot connect the wait times and the FP+ I do not know. Trust me, I saw parts of the Safari line that I didn't even know existed. I've been on it like 15 times. ugh I want a do over.

I don't blame you for being annoyed and angry about FP+. If I'd had the kind of day you had, I'd be angry, too. I am desperately worried that our trip next fall is going to turn out to be just exactly this kind of experience- with a VERY high price tag. Apparently, some visitors to Disney never bothered to figure out how to use FP-, even though the kiosks were obvious, the directions for use clear, and the lines short. Those of us who took the time to use FP- are now missing it very much, as we are forced into the long FP+ return lines, even longer standby lines, and for some the horrendous nonsense of offsite FP+ kiosks. Those who never used the FP- system think FP+ is amazing, but for those of us who used FP- as Disney intended, this new system is a NIGHTMARE. What I don't understand is why Disney took a system that was available to everyone, that functioned well, and decided to create a new system that makes lines/wait times longer for the majority of attractions. Maybe it makes a few headliners in each park easier to use, but for those who go to a theme park for the rides, it's HORRIBLE. I don't blame you one little bit for being mad.

What I don't' understand is the people who say "well we got on a few things" and that they liked FP+ but didn't like only getting three, using them all in one park, tiering. What is there to LIKE about FP+ if you didn't like these parts? That you knew you'd get on 3 rides? For $100 a day??

I don't mind venting, but telling anyone who doesn't agree with you that they are somehow deficient is not the way to get sympathy.

Your problems were not FP+.

And really if you're shelling out the money for 'nicer results' but not paying shipping on your tickets (which you needed to pre book FP+) the fault was not Disney's. Sorry.

The solution=Plan better or don't go

Oh and I drink water...but if you want to think I'm delusional for liking FP+, then I hope it makes you feel better. The fact is I know how to plan, I know how to use technology, and I own an alarm clock. None of which involve Koolaid.

Sorry I replied to your post but didn't mean "you" specifically. Just the constant, if you're not one of us you're one of them and them are bad and us are good.

Again, not "you" specifically :)

I think your Kool aid comment was funny it made me laugh...I guess it just about sums up how you felt, so sorry you had that experience. We are heading down last week of May to experience this ourselves. I may be coming back with a worse heading for my post who knows!! hehe...ignore the people on here that cant take a joke, they seriously need to lighten up...maybe go drink some Kool aid? LOL Have a great weekend OP:thumbsup2

Hitting low crowds during Spring Break at 10am?? Well kind of difficult don't you think? I had 75 min wait in the Safari in July 2011, and I was there 30 min after RD. I would have love to have FP+ for an early ride that day.
Did you stay at a NICE hotel, meaning on-site?? If so, then you could have done everything there, tickets and FP+, before you hit the parks.
Starting March 31, off-site guests will have access to FP+ 30 days in advance, so that will make it easier.
Also, how can you be sure it is a FP+ problem? Disney, and all the Orlando area major parks have reported record attendance since late last year!!
I just think generalizations are not good for people who planning their vacations. I'll be there in a few weeks, hopefully I have a better experience. Definitely pros and cons, but I also had cons for FP- (need of runners, no FP- for major attractions after 11am, etc).

I still feel 3 FP+ are just too few, and no Park Hopping options! But I'll be open minded until I experience it.

We used FP+ last December. It worked quite well for us, and there were elements of it that I enjoyed very much. It meshed nicely with our personal touring style.

So you were able to use FP+ when FP- was still operating. I can't think of anyone in the DIS universe who would not consider that situation to be stellar! :thumbsup2

Thinking critically...

I don't see any reason to believe that FP+ is suddenly going to turn around and start abusing me. :rotfl: It's not my boyfriend. It's just a system that happens to mesh well with my style of touring, something that isn't likely to change.

Don't take the analogy too literally. I don't expect any battered FP user shelters to spring up, although if I were Universal I'd keep an eye on the prospect.

But when comparing system integrity to personal integrity, I'm not talking about styles of touring as much as whether system problems are encountered or not. Some people are getting hosed by bad WiFi, down systems and data base corruption when they can't make changes or their park & resort data vanishes from the system. Some people are experiencing smooth as silk queue management days (probably better to say hours since it varies wildly) and some are standing in long lines all day watching empty ride vehicles pass by because the CMs can't manage the queues well. That doesn't get invalidated by someone else saying "it worked great for me". When a system suffers integrity problems it will eventually burn all users.

What is the world coming to when you cant post your experiences and opinions on a Disney site without being talked down to :confused3.
I'm glad you posted your experience and I do not think it is necessary for others to slap you in the face just because you dont like fastpass +
I have not used fastpass + yet so I do not have an opinion but, I like reading the post about it good or bad ones

Your counter indicates that you'll be there a week before us, we went mid Oct last year and had a very positive experience with the exception of Columbus Day Weekend and Mon. FP+ had nothing to do with holiday crowds and we're avoiding that this Oct. We'll be there for 9 park days and I expect to get our fill with 3 FP+ per day. Don't forget the concert series in WS and avoid WS on Sat, the F&W crowd that day will be insane. Enjoy!

The title of the post is an insult: "those who like FP+ are drinking the Kool Aid".

People are probably reacting to that.

People aren't upset because the OP didn't like FP+. People are upset because THEY'RE being talked down to for LIKING FP+.

Same here... I prefer crystal light because it's has no calories. But I do indulge in pixie dust because it smells like cotton candy and I like the way it makes me feel :hippie: ;)

No doubt, 10 am during spring break no less.
