We just returned this weekend from a wonderful vacation which included 2 days at Universal/ IOA. I can't thank you guys enough for answering my question about superheroes and I have learned so much by just lurking on this board and reading what you guys have said.
Our day at IOA was last Tuesday which started out in a downpour. Lots and lots of rain. The upside being that there were hardly any lines at all. Spiderman was a walk on and what a great ride. Then our lucky moment came. We went into this amphitheater where they were calling people in due to rain. My family which consisted of me, DH, DS (6), DS (2), my mom, my dad and my sister went in and were pleased to see Popeye, Olive, Woody Woodpecker and Betty Boop. There was hardly anyone else in there with us. Then the big moment came. Spiderman walked out. My boys were thrilled. We pretty much had Spiderman as much as we wanted. It was great and then got even better. A little while later, Wolverine, Storm, Captain America and Rogue came out. Wow. My boys were so excited. It definitely was a thrill for my kids.
The rain lightened up some and we had fun in Seussland meeting the Cat in the Hat and the Grinch. My Dh, myself, my sister and my dad rode Dueling Dragons. Oh my, that ride left me dizzy. What a rush though. Even with the rain, we had one of the best times we have ever had.
The next day we went to Universal. We did Men in Black and then me, my parents and my sister rode Back to the Future while my DH watched the kids. I do have a comment on this one. That ride is too jerky. I think my lost a few brain cells being jerked all around on that one. The preshow about safety is hilarous though. We then let my DS 6 ride Woody's Nuthouse coaster with my DH. He thought it was great. Then a big moment for my DS(2) happened. He met his idols Scooby and Shaggy. It was great. We also met Jimmy Neutron, Crash Bandicoot, Shrek and more. It was a blast. The lines were definitely long. We never did get to go on Shrek but we did get to watch the Ghostbusters show. Now I understand what all the talk is about. That show was hilarious. We laughed until we almost cried. My mom even had to see it twice. Definitely some cute boys up there.
Well, thanks for listening to our adventures. I can't wait to go back.
