Had a great trip from May 16-21. The weather started out cool, but was quite warm by the end of the week. A few quick tips and what worked for us.

  • The tourguidemike suggestions worked great again.
  • Arriving early is always better than following the best park. We went to MK on Saturday and still did everything we wanted. Pooh & Peter Pan were walk ons, but had 45-55 minute waits by 11:30.
  • Had a great guide on the Safari - Emily was very lively and the most fun ever.
  • The new StarTours ride is awesome.
  • We finally rode the Wizarding World of H Potter - and to us it was a dud. Hard to believe. The entire area is amazing, but we had ridden Star Tours on soft opening the day before, and Star Tours was so much better.
  • The first day of Star Wars Weekend was the most insane day I have ever experienced at a park. CRAZY
  • Talk to the cast members. We had a great time talking American football with a UK cast member, with Wendy at the tiger viewing area at AK, and even the folks parking us.
  • Kidani Village was a great place to stay. Love covered parking below our room.
  • Why do we like the T Transit Authority People Mover so much?
  • Space Mountain was not running, but we saw the entire place lit up.
  • EPCOT still had the topiaries out front and on the back side of Spaceship Earth when we left on Saturday, 5/21 even though Flower & Garden closed on 5/15. They were awesome.
  • I wish for one time I could draw a good character in the animation building - just once!! Nancy was a great guide and made everyone feel terrific.
  • Why do people drop their trash in the middle of the walk ways when a trash can is 3 steps away?
  • It is very odd to be in a large group of people and to be the only ones speaking English.
  • The new caramel shop in Germany is a great improvement over a porcelain figurine shop.
  • Glad to see Captain EO again. Now they can remove it and put in a new movie that will pump up that entire building.
  • We are already planning our next trip & we just got back.

You had to have loved Hogwarts, though, right? As much as I love HP, I still didn't "get" FJ and it just made me sick. Glad you had a good trip!

Wow, Star Tours 2 is better than Harry Potter? That is impressive! I actually did enjoy Harry Potter quite a lot, but can't wait to ride ST2.

We finally rode the Wizarding World of H Potter - and to us it was a dud.

You mean Forbidden Journey? It made me sick, but then I wasn't feeling 100% at that point anyway.

How was Dragon Challenge? How did you like Flight of the Hippogriff?

Wizarding World is the whole "land"...Forbidden Journey's just one of the rides.

What else did you do at Universal? Or did you just go for Wizarding World?

I have been to Universal numerous times, so we hit both parks and did many of the attractions.

Hogwarts and the entire area is amazing. The Wand selection show at the wand shop was awesome. We just did not care for Forbidden Journey. It was so disjointed. TO us, the best part was following Harry through the match.

We did not do Dragon or Hippogriff because we had done them before. Both are good coasters.

Of course, these are our opinions. We are fans, but not Potter fanatics.

Glad to hear you had a great trip. I have been planning our return since we got back in April. :) I am really anxious to go to Wizarding World, but my kids are a little young right now. The older one is a Star Wars nut, though, so I'm so glad to hear the new ST is awesome. He was so bummed that it wasn't open yet when we went.

OT, but we live in Suwanee, too!

Star Tours was good but I think the computer went a little easy on us so I hope the next trip it kicks it up a notch!! We just got back yesterday and had an amazing time! I live in Miami so I am used to be the only one in a crowd that speaks English. I like to practice my German in Epcot. Some of the cast members there are really sweet about it!

CM's were telling us at soft=opening of Star Tours, that there are 54 different sequences for the ride so every time you ride it will probably be different. It IS cool. Oh, also that the 3-D glasses are not the typical ones that you use at Muppet vision, etc. There were way more expensive.

I'm going to move this to our trip report board.
