Listen, too tired for report, in short, I used the Loews card and bribe and got to concierge, they treated us like kings both at HR and in parks, the parks were spotless, never waited more than 5 minutes, many walk-on, we did the discovery deal, one day each park, a comando
last day two park best of both day, be forewarned lots of thundershowers they close HR pool whenever iminent, can ruin your tour all day swim all night plan,
amybe swim first and then go or take early break just a thought. Ask questions, hardest problem is gettin good information. We hit it on Monday, they let us in at 9:30,
that is check in, didn't have to leave bags.....

You even WRITE like you're tired, Radar.

You must've had a BLAST!

Can't wait to hear the rest. How'd you wife handle all the walking? Is she alright? Let us know!

Wife has bad knees, rented chair, listen if any of you need one of these what I found out is that you keep til 7 or closing, can go back and pick up passenger at HR, its the open areas that are like miles away that we needed it for.It was funny, I almost rode Hulk, 16 yr old rode with others and spewed breakfast shortly thereafter, wonder if Debbie still is around, guess you're
not the only person that got sick...

Believe me, it was that Disney Debbie trip report that REMINDED me not to eat breakfast BEFORE the Hulk!

$10----I was waiting to see if the upgrade happened before I actually gave it to her, I also had the Loew's card, if you don't have one of these maybe $20, if you can skip the price of the difference between pool view and concierge it would be a deal. If you have kids with you this is worth trying for, they had the lounge area, mom could vegetate in the room, there were dvd's for little kids, teens, bring a suitable PG one, they had local and USA papers, mags, so I went to another corner and read some. Its sort of a treat to be able to go to 7, the kids lal get a key card, don't know if i would give $100 a
night, but I do think that even without the Loew's card, if you give them at least $20 they might find a room, these people aren't getting rich so it really seemed to light her up, she gave us a sixth key, room by lounge, so it was like two steps away, however it turns out you will love this place, it will probably either get too expensive or otherwise change, but for know it is really special, they even have an umbrella in the closet to use in the parks, the people WERE ALL SOOOOO NICE, FROM THE DESK CLERK TO THE BELLMAN!!

Hi Radar,

We will be staying at the HRH in august, we haves ressies for pool view...how do you go about "bribing" the desk clerk, we do have a loews card, do we just flash some cash??? we will be staying for 3 nights, and we cant wait!!

66 more days, but who's counting

patty

Yes, flash it, tell her you with loews card and say you wanted to see if you could get concierge level, going early seemed to help too. we actually checked in at 9:30 or so, also if you go early and make it, free breakfast for day of check in or sodas for the park, just a thought, sure that weekdays, we went on monday help, weekends may be more busy, you will love this place, I am a professional traveler, this is the most fun one I have ever been too, it has style, its upscale yet not pompous, it is eclectic, it is made for baby boomers and their kids, it appeals to both young kids and teenagers, don't know how that is possible, just know that what others wrote is true, it reminds me of like Excalibur in LV without the casino, never been anywhere
where everyone from the bellman to desk clerk is so darn nice. Used to the surly clerks in LV and elsewhere I guess, these guys are gonna make a run at Disney....

Are any of the concierge level rooms non-smoking? I was wondering since my son has asthma. We currently have pool view reserved, but if we can be lucky enough to get upgrade as you did, I figured I would get details as far as non-smoking aspect first before asking.

Ours was non-smoking, not sure of percentages, but think the majority are ns...

Thanks for your help...we will be arriving at the HRH around noon on Mon, aug 20 for a 3 night stay...with any luck we will get upgraded...

63 days left, but who's counting....

thanks again...

Guess I've been to too many places, but this one of the few that really lived up too it's billing, it was great, we had a free night at Embassy the last night or we would have held over, it was sooo much fun. My persoanl recomendations, if teens bring a DVD they want to watch, maybe a playstation/nintnedo, they will hook up,
also some chees dip or a little kind of horderve, they have cheese and crackers, veggies for hh. Don't forget to bring some drinks back to room, after your here a day you will start happy hour earlier than them, if you take bottles to pool, they will give you plastic cups at the bar beside pool. Noticed beer for example is like $3.50, doesn't take long to make that $10 back.the one thing I would do over is swim before we hit the parks, because when even a small cloud arrives they shut the pool, they closed it a couple of evenings about 7-when the park closed, so the swim all evening plan died, just a thought. Also ther is an umbrella in the closet if you should need it.Orlando does have squirelly weather, lots of rain/storms, etc...
