We were on the Magic for 7 nights (July 3-10) then stayed at WL from July 10-14. We booked resort only through Dreams Unlimited.

We arrived at WL around 10 am. The CM told us he had good news and our room was ready. He said he had other good news and we were upgraded to a courtyard view.

WL was great as usual. Other than going to the parks, we watched the Electrical Light parade from the beach, spent time in both pools, and DH and I even spent an hour or so reading in the Iron Spike Room.

I will have to say that a little known secret about WL would be Territory Lounge. DH and I had a few drinks in there one evening. Also, after a long day at the park, DH, DSs (14 and 16) and I had late night snacks. They only offer a few things but we felt it was very good-nachos, wings, potato skins, pizza. Only a handful of people were in there. It was a great way to get away from the crowds. :)

The only negative thing I have to report is that DH let the CM that was checking us in know it would be our DSs 16th birthday while we were there. The CM said, no problem, they would have balloons and a banner waiting in the room. Well----nothing was left. :( :( We were checking out the next day, so we couldn't have it delivered at another time. I know our son was disappointed since he had seen other people receive this birthday treat.

I'll be happy to answer any questions.

KarenB,

Glad you and your family had a great trip, wonderful upgrade...sorry about the Birthday Balloons.

My DD, almost 3, and I will be at WL in less than 2 months. This is a first trip for both of us to WDW. My main concern about staying at WL is the transportation. Since we'll be there for 8 nights, I'm planning at least one visit to each of the 4 main parks and probably one water park. I expect we'll spend most of our time MK, though. How was transportation to MK and the other resorts? Does WL "share" buses to the other parks? If so, how crowded were they by the time the bus reached WL? We'll be taking a stroller so I'm hoping we don't have to worry too much about crowded buses during our trip. I realize when you were there was "busy season" and we'll be in a much slower time period but it's always good to now what we might need to prepare for.

Thanks

Hi,

Glad you had a good time!! Can't wait to go back in WL in December!

Glad you had a great time! I look forward to staying there someday, too! Using DU for the first time this year; so happy to read a good report about that, too!

transportation is great...you can take a boat to the MK and just roll the stroller right on the big boat...there is a smaller boat that goes to FW and CT also

LisaZoe-I felt the transportation was fine. We took the bus from WL to AK early in the morning. That bus did stop at Grand Floridan and Blizzard Beach. Kind of made it a long ride especially when you are excited!!

The next day we took the same bus but to Blizzard Beach. This time, no Grand Floridan stop. Short ride since we were the first stop.

Took the boat to MK around 8:30am and back from MK about 10pm that night.
