Just back from POFQ

Hi everyone! We just got back Friday from POFQ. It was our first stay at this hotel and we really liked it. We were in room 4240 (building 4) which was so close to everything. We were right behind the bus stop and right next to the food court. The kids loved the pool. They had staff that played games and music and they loved the slide. The bus was great. Most of the time we didn't make any stops, if we did stop at POR it was a little annoying because they have 4 stops within the resort. We were first to pick up and drop off though. We have always stayed deluxe and this was our first experience with a moderate. We were pleasantly surprised, it was very clean and the rooms were really nice (the queen size beds helped). The bathroom was a little small but it was fine. We would definitely stay there again!

Being a southern girl, I much prefer POR to POFQ, but I have to say at night when you go on the water taxi, it looks so beautiful all lit up.

It really makes you feel like you are in New Orleans.

We have reservations be there in late January.. we are going to be there a week and don't plan to be in our hotel room too much -- so many other things to do... But, DH thinks we might be better off in the cabins where we'll have a bit more room. What are your thoughts? The cabins seem to be in a large sprawling resort while POFQ seems cozier. It is our first trip to Disney..

And.. are the beingets are good as in N.O.?

Lastly, if we stay at POFQ.. do you have room/building recommendations?

I hope to run into Disers staying at POFQ. We will be the ones from New Orleans with LSU and Saints attire. Well I will be sporting Mickey attire and the rest ofthe family LSU and Saints.

We have reservations be there in late January.. we are going to be there a week and don't plan to be in our hotel room too much -- so many other things to do... I have never stayed at Fort Wilderness in the cabins so I don't really know. POFQ was very cozy and compact, we liked that. I thought the beingets were good but I have 2 sisters that live in the New Orleans area and the ones at Cafe Dumonde are better We stayed in building 4 which was close to everything.

While POFQ is my favorite resort, the short answer is - no, they aren't. Nor are the Muffalettas and Gumbo. But as I say they are "highly acceptable." My breakfast there is always Beignets and Cappucino. Just think of them as an extension of the resort theming - you know it isn't quite the real thing but the essence is there.
