Just back from OKW...

We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa at Old Key West this past week. The family loved it. I thought it was OK, but a little "older" for my taste. The whole bus thing is another story...we spent more time waiting for and riding buses than anything!

We stayed at OKW this past Spring and said we would never do it again because of the bus situation.

Try the castle slide at the pool?
rent boats?
take the ferry to DTD?

I would love to stay at OKW because the space is bigger but i heard the bus waits r tough ! I would be interested to hear more about that.

I've heard that about buses at OKW a lot, but I was there from 8/28-9/4 and thought the buses were great. It helped to be close to both the first and last bus stops (so I could skip the 10 minute long trip through all the OKW bus stops). I wonder if they cut back on the bus service after the long weekend.

I also saw a couple of buses that just blew by a bus stop (once leaving my and another family hollering after it. I took my kids over to the last bus stop and we still made the bus, but it was exasperating. I wonder if some bus drivers occasionally miss an inner stop--that could really make someone's wait long!)
