Purchased the dining plan for an upcoming trip but due to blockout in the bounceback offers we had to book a split stay for memorial weekend. Will the resort cups we get that Saturday expire Monday when we check out and into the next Disney hotel? Or will they work the 14 days like usual? Thanks in advance!

They will continue to work at your new hotel for 14 days.

To be clear mugs are currently activated for 14 days BUT Disney could start to enforce posted policy without any advance notice.

They will continue working for 14 days, but you're also not supposed to use them past the stay. I've never seen this enforced.

Not sure how they would enforce it. I go for 12-14 days each trip and buy the mug. When I use it on some machines it displays the expiration date. It's always 2 weeks from when I purchased it, even if I'm not staying 2 weeks. There are quite a few locations where the chip sensors don't even work. I was heading to the MK one morning and stopped to fill my water bottle with Powerade and only after I filled it did I realize it wasn't my mug. This was 4 years ago and that location still doesn't actually read the chip, I've checked (and I did buy the mug). They just don't tell you it's broken. I've found this to be true at many locations. Freestyle machines are different, they do read the chip and all seem to work!

They would have to make sure all the chip readers work and start linking cups to your reservations. That might be easy to do with dining plans, but probably more of a pain for people just buying them. I doubt it would ever be worth it for them to do this, since resort quick service locations make a ton of money, but they hypothetically could.
