Hi Everyone!
We just returned on Wednesday night from a 5 night stay in an OKW one bedroom, a 2 night stay in a VB one bedroom and a 3 night stay in a WLV Studio.
These were all new experiences with us because we own at BWV.
We loved the spaciousness of OKW. We stayed in unit 3725 (golf view). Although I was hoping for a water view, we couldn't have asked for more quiet and peaceful location. We cannot comment on bus transportation because we rented a car for the week.
I didn't have many expectations regarding Vero Beach because we are from the east coast, but I ended up falling in love with the resort once we arrived. The beach was small, but the sunrises and sunsets were absolutely amazing. We stayed in room 1412, and although I was a little disappointed about being on the first floor, the foliage around our room gave us a lot of privacy. The only thing the room lacked was storage space in bathroom areas. We were suprised to find there were no cabinets.
I always wish I was back at WDW once we arrive home. What I find amazing is that this year I am wishing we were back at VB!
We ended our stay in 4539 (a woods view room) at WLV, our fist experience in a studio as DVC members. I was worried that we would not be satisfied with the room since we have been spoiled with one bedrooms since we joined DVC, however, we fell in love with the accomodiations and the resort. It lived up to all our expectations, and we found the studio to be the perfect size room for a shorter stay.
We also toured the BCV and thought the resort was absolutely beautiful. It was a perfect vacation, and while we wouldn't hesitate to stay in any of these resorts again, we found ourselves homesick for the Boardwalk area. Can't wait to return in January!
Please let us know if you have any questions. :D

Hi, I was looking back a few pages and came upon your post. We may try VB in Aug '03 and I'm curious about why you fell in love!! Can you suggest a room request? what is there to do? Any info will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi even1!
As I stated in my earlier post, I am from the mid-atlantic coast and we go to the beach at least once year. I had heard that there was not much to do at Vero, so when my DH told be that he would like to go, I was very hesitant.
However, once we arrived, those feelings immediately faded. As soon as you drive up to the resort, you can tell that the quality is none other than Disney.
The resort is tropical and very romantic. (Being from the mid-atlantic, I just couldn't get enough of the palm trees!) The surf was warm, the sunrises spectacular and the sunsets were absolutely georgous.
The representative at check-in wasn't the best, but all the other staff exceeded our expectations. We ended up with the same waitress both nights, and she remembered what we liked to drink even though we only had one drink each the previous evening.
We also had room service on our last morning, and the CM who took our order, as well as the one who delivered it were extremely nice and efficient.
When we checked out, we called housekeeping to inform them. When the CM answered the phone, she called us by name.
We only stayed 2 days, so we didn't venture away from Disneys property. Therefore, I will not be of much help with those type of questions.
Our room was on the first floor, which I normally always avoid. However the foliage around our room gave us a lot of privacy. I didn't make any specific room requests when I made our reservations (because of the short duration of our stay), however, I would definately recommend that you request either 2nd or 3rd floor so you can see/hear the surf.
I have a few pictures that I can send you via email. (I can't figure out how to post them here.) If you would like, feel free to PM me and I will be happy to forward them to you.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks for the thread ncligs! It seems as though there would be enough to keep us busy! I appreciate your post.:)

MickeyCrazed- I am glad you enjoyed your trip, and thanx for the report!

even1- my favorite VB activity at VB is...just relaxing...no worries, no lines, no schedules, and no 'toot of the angry horn'

Hi! This will be my 1st trip to Disney as an Adult! I traded my timeshare from Las Vegas to stay at OKW! I got a 2 bedroom Villa. I am going with my boyfriend and my bestfriend from high school and her boyfriend. Well, we are thinking about cooking meals, do they have everything, like pots pans, dishes? How about paper towels and dish soap, do we have to buy this stuff? If anyone has a list that they buy before they check in let me know, we have a rental car and were going to stop from the airport to OKW at a grocery store, anyone know if the Walmart is a Super Walmart?

Thanks!

PiazzaM,
Yes, all the one bedroom and two bedroom villas have fully stocked kitchens. Pots, pans, dishes, silverware, and glasses.
They give you a small bottle of dishwashing detergent, and during our recent stay, there was a full size box of Cascade for us to use.
(However, in our previous stays at other Disney resorts, we only received a package of dishwashing powder that was enough for one load of dishes.) I think that the people who stayed there before us may have bought the box and left it there for our use. So I am not sure what you should expect as far as that is concerned.
I have been told that the Walmart is a Super Walmart, although I have never shopped there.
Also this topic is unrelated to your post, however in case it helps, very few buildings at OKW have elevators. So if anyone in your party has problems climbing the stairs, you may want to request a ground floor room.
Perhaps someone on the budget board can give you more advice regarding the Walmart/grocery stores.
Have a great trip. I'm sure you will love OKW!
:D a
