Hi, we just returned from a two night stay after a cruise. I know there have been lots of posts on this property, so if anyone has any questions I will try and answer them. First let me say, I was one of the first posters to stay at Vistana Villages years ago when they were dirt cheap and I love that resort. Now that they are charging as much as Disney resorts, I have not stayed there in a while, but was happy to find a good deal on this property thru Hotel Kingdom. We stayed in a one bedroom, me, my DH and our two kids. I would recommend a two bedroom for a week long stay for the following reasons: No dishwasher, no washer/dryer, only two drawers for clothes, kitchen and eating area would be tough for 4 people for a whole week. The room was beautiful. Everything seemed new and was very clean. The balcony was kind of weird, it was small and set into the building so there was a wall on either side. Did not seem like a balcony, but was nice to sit in the fresh air. We always stayed in 2 bedrooms at VV, but for people who have stayed there in a one bedroom, CPGV one bedroom was a much better set up. It is true there is no door on the shower/tub area so you have to close the bedroom door to use them. Not a big deal. The outside areas of the hotel seemed neat and clean and I did not see any overflowing garbage cans as many others posters have noted. There was a deli/pizza place/store by the pool. I will say food area could have been cleaner looking, but we did not eat there so I can't say how the food is. It was a great location with lots of restaurants nearby. DD was only 2 minutes away and we made it to EPCOT in about 7 minutes. I will be happy to answer any specific questions anyone has, but in closing, I think this is a great buy for the money and I think anyone would be happy staying here.

Ok here we go...

Do you need a car?
Is Cypress pointe grand villas different from cypress pointe resort and if so how?

How far away is it from attractions such as MK? Um I think that's all I have for now, thx.

I would recommend a car, you can walk to restaurants, but I am not sure if they have a shuttle to the parks or not, we did have a car. I took us about 6 minutes to get to Epcot. You are only 1 minute from the Downtown Disney entrance which leads to all the parks, so you don't have to travel on any "outside" roads to get to the parks. THis is very nice. I have not stayed at the 1st resort, so I cannot comment on the rooms there, but I know the GV are newer.

FirstTimer,

We are staying for the first time at CP (not Grandvillas) in April. CP is the older phase of the resort, CPGV the newer phase. The GV side is supposedly nicer, but CP just completed some major renovations and the pictures look great! I understand you can use all of the facilities at both phases if you are staying at either one. I would plan on having a car...not sure if there is a shuttle or not, but if so, there is probably a charge, and offsite shuttles are notoriously inconvenient. If the time to Epcot is calculated at 6-7 min., I'd wager a guess that the time to the MK parking lot would be another 5-10 min. on top of that. CP/CPGV is one of the most convenient offsite resorts to the parks.

Good luck with your decision! :)
