we didn't eat at the foodcourt or maya grill.

the longest wait for a bus was 20 minutes, usually more like 5-10, except for dtd. one night we waited for a dtd bus for like 40 minutes, but that was a one-time occurrance.

we stayed in cabanas 8a, room 8155. this is a great room! a hop skip and jump to the pool, and very close to bus stop 4 too.
we didn't have any problems with noise, and as a matter of fact we couldn't believe that the resort was so quiet when it was supposedly so full. we hardly saw other people at all (of course we only went to el centro about 3 times).

no wait to check in, and had a very friendly cm check us in and honored all of our requests (although we did have to wait for our room).

perhaps b/c we never went to el centro, i never saw any people there for conventions, although i know there were some going on.

we really liked the pool bar, and the pool, although the water was a bit chilly. the hot tub was nice except for the fact that the three times we tried it out there were always small children (some unsupervised, some with their parents their) splashing around and kicking. i was really shocked that the parents who were there didn't say anything to their kids. it made for a bad experience for the rest of us trying to enjoy it. :(

one morning i walked all around the resort and i think if we had to choose again we would probably stay in the ranchos. the buildings and landscaping there were just so unbelievably beautiful. the cabanas were great too, but i think the ranchos are a bit more our style.

i would definately stay here again. :)

Welcome back! Glad to hear that you had a great time at CSR!! I will be there is august and I'm very excited. I requested the Cabana's section, and it seems like your building is a good location. How far away was 8A from el centro? Also, what did you think of the Casitas section? I was debating on whether to request that section or not.

8a isn't terribly far from el centro (we walked once or twice), maybe about a 4-5 minute walk. and it certainly is a pretty walk. the style of the casitas (outside, i didn't see the inside) doesn't appeal to me, but i have a couple friends that stayed there that liked it a lot.

i think the casitas were more "bustling" if that makes sense. we hardly saw anyone in the cabanas and they were really quiet. when i walked throught the casitas, i saw lots of people and it was louder.

That's what I love to hear. Another great review. Glad you had a great time! Noise, I never heard a peep when we stayed there. No people because they are all in conventions. Works for me. God, I love CSR.

149 more days!!

I too, enjoyed my stay at CSR a few years ago. Unfortunately, my stay coincided with "Hurricane Floyd" (Yes, that was the 1st time they ever closed WDW!). We were in the Ranchos section, about as far away from everything as you can get! It did worry us alittle when the storm hit. We figured we'd never be able to get to the main buildings if we needed to. Even with all that excitement, we really liked the resort. the walk was not bad at all. I had heard that they try to put the convention people in the Casitas area, because it's closer to the meeting rooms. They certainly were not very visible while we were there. At that time, the bus transportation was excellant!!
Enjoy your stay there Gumdrop!
