We just returned yesterday from our NGW CR room through SOG. It was excellent to stay at the CR on the SOG price. What a deal! That said, I do have to tell you that I was kind of disappointed in the CR. The rooms were plenty big, but it just didn't seem very deluxe to me. The place certainly needs to be upgraded (carpet in the hallways very dirty, tile in the bathroom dirty looking, bathtub was very grungy, very small elevators.)
We requested a quiet room. We got a room (3rd floor) next to a mechanical room which kept the noise down on the headboard side of the bed, so that was nice. We have two little ones (4 and 2) and wanted to make sure they would sleep well. Of course, my 2-y-o DS passed out on the way out of the MK one night (with thousands of people swarming around him), so noise sure didn't bother him!
We were in a corner room that looked onto the playground (8301) and were quite a ways from an elevator. Keep the elevator locations in mind when requesting a room.
We rented a fridge and requested bed rails.
I much prefer the food courts of the moderates to the fast food joints at the CR and the Poly. The selection is no comparison.
Our kids were really too young for the arcade but it looked awesome. It was nice to be so close to Chef Mickey's.
Overall, I have to say I was not impressed with the CR-NGW (sorry to the CR fans). I would never pay full price to stay there (the tower may be different), but was glad we were there since I would love to stay at every Disney resort someday. For monorail convenience I would definitely go with the Poly (we stayed there a couple years ago on SOG overflow.) I thought it was much nicer. We did a lot of walking at both places, but the walking at the CR was in the hallways and on bare cement. The walks at the Poly wound through trees and plants. Much nicer atmosphere.
If anyone has any questions, fire away.
