Erika:

Welcome back! I just read your trip report, and I replied there as well, but I'd like to say again that I'm so glad you and DH had such a nice vacation, and I'm especially glad that you liked CBR so much!!!!!! :)

welcome home!!!!!! I'll go over and read your report in a little while!!! :)

Laura :)

Yipee!!! Been anxiously awaiting your return! Just received my Personalized trip planning info and it had two gorgeous pictures of CBR that I had not seen. My mom an sis were oohing and aahing!!!

We really enjoyed CBR. :) The bus driver said the new resort going in next to it will also be a moderate. I don't know if that is true?? I had heard it was going to be DVC, it's called Bonnet Creek Resort I think. They were working everyday over there getting the building site ready. We also saw the Pop Century behind CBR, it's looks all ready to go. I guess they'll open it soon.

Welcome back!

We will be staying at CBR in 2 weeks!

I will definitely check out your trip report:)

Hi I enjoyed your trip report and have a few questions. I am planning a trip with a friend of mine for April. We are going on our first girls only trip in 18 years. It sounds like a long time but it really isn't. It is sort of a Yea!!!! We did it the kids are raised and got into the schools of their choice. The husbands are too busy worrying about the tuition payments and can't get the time off so we are doing this alone. Which building do you think would be a good choice for us. We are both in our late 40's and in good health no problems at all but I don't want to be with a ton of people waking me up on their way to the parks at the crack of dawn. Been there, done that. Do you have a suggestion? We both love children and actually are upper elementary teachers I just would like to relax and enjoy the atmosphere at a slower pace this trip. I am use to staying at the Poly which is why we chose the CBR. We have rented a car so the bus stop isn't an issue if you have a suggestion for which building I would love to hear. Thanks,Denise

I'm so glad to hear you had a great time! I had CBR booked for our trip in June and recently changed to CSR because we had stayed there before and really liked it. I wanted to try CBR because it looked so nice but was a little afraid. Now, I'm tempted to call CRO and change them back but I'm afraid they'll kill me. Decisions, decisions! I like your idea of trying a different resort each time as it does change up the vacation, especially if you alternate between MK and Epcot resorts. Up to this point, I think the Boardwalk is also our favorite (or is it the Poly?). :D :D :D

I would definitely stay at the CRB instead of CS. Much more of a resort atmosphere versus convention place. I would reccommend Aruba as it is close to everything. I only stay at the BWV now that I'm a member of DVC but before my favourite moderate was CBR.

DisneyDenise - you sound like my mom! :D

Disneydenise - I don't think you'll be disappointed with any building at CBR. If you want to be far away from OPR then I would choose Barbados or Aruba. They seem more quiet and farther from the main pool. Actually though, we didn't hear or see anyone near our room. I know the resort was sold out over the weekend we were there, but you couldn't tell. It's just one of those places that is so large and spread out that you really don't even feel like you're in a hotel at all. It felt very private where we were. :) I'm sure you'll have a great time. I went to New Orleans with my 2 best friends from college a couple of years ago and it was so much fun. ;)

WOW! I just read your trip report, (finally!)! I am glad I did! between you and seaspray, I'm starting to itch to stay at CBR!!!
both of you have stayed at deluxes, GF included! and that's the opinions that I trust! because you know first hand how wonderful deluxes are!!!
tell me, did you miss the balcony at all? was there a ton of kids? or just the same as the deluxes?? i always think the mods would be louder or something? I think it would be great to go on a wdw vacation for about $100 a night! but, believe it or not, I cant talk dh into trying a mod!!!
this trip in May, he did finally agree that we can go resort hop over to mod, I am defiantely going to pick CBR, to see how we like it. I am also going to ask at th edesk if they can show us a room!!! :)

will we be completely overwhelmed when we arrive at CBR? should we get off the bus at OPR, and then just walk around???

and I know that Martinique is the blue w/maroon roof, and Jamaica is the yellow and blue, what color is Trinidad North???

thanks!!!
and thanks again for the fabulous report!!!! so, whens your next trip!!??? :)

Laura :)

I am the same way!! :) After a bad experience at ASMu I told dh I would never go back to Disney unless is was deluxe. ;) I really enjoyed GF and the BWI on our previous trips, they are beautiful resorts.... but since they did not offer any AP rates this month we just couldn't afford to spend rack rate for a deluxe resort. I told dh we should just go to Vegas, but he insisted on trying CBR. I am really glad that we did. I am spoiled rotten (believe me) but I really liked CBR. We didn't spend much time at the resort since we didn't have the kids. We were able to leave in the morning, come back to change for dinner, and then stay out late every night. Now maybe if I was going to stay at the resort a lot I would have missed the luxury of a deluxe, but for this trip I didn't. I think it just depends on what you want to do. We spent most of our time in the parks or at DD.

There were a lot of kids at the main pool, but at the smaller pools I didn't see many people. Just a few adults reading, and maybe one or two kids playing quietly. I also didn't see any kids running around the building... which was strange because I know the resort was sold out during most of our stay.

Also, I was very impressed with housekeeping. Our room was spotless everyday, they left us little towel animals and special notes, which by the way we NEVER recieved at any of the deluxe resports we stayed at before. Also they arranged dh's toiletries for him (which made his day). They really made us feel special. On the morning we were checking out housekeeping came by and asked if we needed anything before we left. I was very surprised and pleased. :)

Next time you guys are down there just stop by CBR and walk around. You'll know right away if you like it or not. I think money was the big issue for us on this trip.... normally with an AP discount we can afford a deluxe resort, but this was a different situation.

I think next time we are going to try the WL. We've never stayed there before. When we have the kids with us I like to stay near MK. That is the main reason we stayed at the GF last October. If dh and I decide to take another "get away" from the kids then CBR will definitely be my choice for great service, a clean room, and the RIGHT price! ;)

TigrLvsPooh: I hav not read your trip report, but am looking forward to it. My husband loves Vegas, but he gave me airline tickets for christmas, which meant that I get to pick the destination for our trip (also without kids). Our oldest is teaching, second is in college, youngest decided that he doesn't want to join us. I have loved reading the reports from seaspray, and now I have more information about CBR to psych me up. Glad you had a great time.:)

Disneydenise: When my sister turned forty we went to disney with 8 adult women. All relatives: my sister, mom and I live in WI, my cousins and aunt joined us from PA. We had so much fun. Felt a little bad about not bringing the kids, but we kept busy and had alot of time to catch up with one another. Make sure you visit some of the other resorts, as long as you have a car. This is something adults seem to enjoy more than kids. We also spent a fun night at Pleasure Island and enjoyed breakfast at the Poly. Love the Tonga Toast. In fact we enjoyed the trip so much that we returned five years later for my fortieth, and this time a cousin from OR made the trip. Have a great time. :earsgirl:
