We just spent 9 wonderful days at the BWV. We had a 1 bdr boardwalk view on the 5th floor and it was an amazing view. We were really, really far from the elevators though, for all those who hate long BWV hallways
. We didn't mind though, you walk every where at Disney and at least we were warm and dry during the walk.
The villa was very clean and well kept up. We had brought an aerobed for our youngest son and sheets for it. I called housekeeping for extra pillows and towels and they were there in 10 minutes with 3 extra pillows and a gigantic stack of towels and washclothes. When they did our full cleaning on the 4th day they left a bunch more too. They were awesome. We even got adorable towel animals shaped like elephants.
We were able to see Epcot fireworks from our balcony and my kids loved that. We did not have any noise issues whatsoever and we were really, really close to Jellyrolls. We brought a sound conditioner for our kids, but I doubt we even needed it.
Our new favorite is the Spoodles breakfast. I highly reccomend it, we did it twice.
Having stayed as a regular guest with a meal plan and a DVC guest with no meal plan but a DDE card, I have to say, I REALLY prefer a meal plan. We spent over $2000 on food AFTER the 20% DDE discount and I know for our family the meal plan would have been a lot better. I liked that you could get the DDE discount on alcohol and maybe we'd keep getting the card for that as long as we get AP's, but if the meal plan is available for our Oct 2006 trip we will hop on it!
I can't see us ever cooking. We did love the big fridge for soda, beer, milk, but that's it. For those who say that 1 counter service meal and 1 table service meal and 1 snack is too much food, I just have to disagree. My kids (who people call skinny-
) were starving at every meal. I'm serious, after a big table service breakfast, at about 12:30 every day they were saying they were starving and wanted lunch. Then, after a counter service lunch they still ate great table serice dinners every night about 7:30. I guess it's all the walking. DH and I were eating right along with them and that's not normally how we eat!
When we got home and got our mail from our neighbor our confirmation letter for our Oct 2006 stay was there (we are going back to BWV) and it was like a little bonus that made us a little less sad about being home.
As usual the Disney transportation was great. The buses only share with Swan and Dolphin now, not YC and BC. Maybe it was just while we were there but, very few people got on/off at the Swan or Dolphin bus stops, so it was mostly Boardwalk guests. The boats were great. We took them many times to/from Epcot just because they happened to be there when we needed them instead of walking. Plus, my kids love them.
The CM's at the Boardwalk were all great too. Everyone was pleasant and helpfull. All and all it was a wonderful trip.
