We just spent 9 wonderful days at the BWV. We had a 1 bdr boardwalk view on the 5th floor and it was an amazing view. We were really, really far from the elevators though, for all those who hate long BWV hallways ;) . We didn't mind though, you walk every where at Disney and at least we were warm and dry during the walk. :)
The villa was very clean and well kept up. We had brought an aerobed for our youngest son and sheets for it. I called housekeeping for extra pillows and towels and they were there in 10 minutes with 3 extra pillows and a gigantic stack of towels and washclothes. When they did our full cleaning on the 4th day they left a bunch more too. They were awesome. We even got adorable towel animals shaped like elephants.
We were able to see Epcot fireworks from our balcony and my kids loved that. We did not have any noise issues whatsoever and we were really, really close to Jellyrolls. We brought a sound conditioner for our kids, but I doubt we even needed it.
Our new favorite is the Spoodles breakfast. I highly reccomend it, we did it twice.
Having stayed as a regular guest with a meal plan and a DVC guest with no meal plan but a DDE card, I have to say, I REALLY prefer a meal plan. We spent over $2000 on food AFTER the 20% DDE discount and I know for our family the meal plan would have been a lot better. I liked that you could get the DDE discount on alcohol and maybe we'd keep getting the card for that as long as we get AP's, but if the meal plan is available for our Oct 2006 trip we will hop on it! :) I can't see us ever cooking. We did love the big fridge for soda, beer, milk, but that's it. For those who say that 1 counter service meal and 1 table service meal and 1 snack is too much food, I just have to disagree. My kids (who people call skinny- ;) ) were starving at every meal. I'm serious, after a big table service breakfast, at about 12:30 every day they were saying they were starving and wanted lunch. Then, after a counter service lunch they still ate great table serice dinners every night about 7:30. I guess it's all the walking. DH and I were eating right along with them and that's not normally how we eat!
When we got home and got our mail from our neighbor our confirmation letter for our Oct 2006 stay was there (we are going back to BWV) and it was like a little bonus that made us a little less sad about being home.
As usual the Disney transportation was great. The buses only share with Swan and Dolphin now, not YC and BC. Maybe it was just while we were there but, very few people got on/off at the Swan or Dolphin bus stops, so it was mostly Boardwalk guests. The boats were great. We took them many times to/from Epcot just because they happened to be there when we needed them instead of walking. Plus, my kids love them.
The CM's at the Boardwalk were all great too. Everyone was pleasant and helpfull. All and all it was a wonderful trip. :)

Nice report, and I'm glad you had a great time!!! We will be there for 9 days starting on Thursday so your report has us excited. If you don't mind, can you elaborate on the Spoodles breakfast? Also, how was the weather - was there much rain and how cold was it? TIA

We just got back on friday from a wonderful stay at BWV. We had a 1 bdrm standard view for my sis and her family and a 2bdrm standard view for my family of 5 plus my mom. Our villas were right next to each other and we looked out at the bus stop. During the day you could see a bit of the taller structures of the World Showcase and at night a good view of Illuminations.

I have to agree that we also enjoyed Spoodles for breakfast. Great food and a good value. They have a yummy all you can eat breakfast platter that includes eggs, sausage, bacon, potatos and french toast. My DH enjoyed the cheese and veggie frittata as well. We fell in love with the BW Bakery, my mom was especially partial to the Napoleon and DDs loved the cupcakes with sprinkles.

We used the DDE card and it worked out great for us - we were a party of 10 and almost all of our dinners included cocktails- even a B-day cake one night. So the 20% off was awesome.

Napoleon, did someone say Napoleon? My wife's eyes just lit up!!!

The Spoodles breakfast was cooked to order and everythig was fresh and very good. The open-face omelets were good as were the pancakes and french toast. They had several choices for kids including mickey waffles, pancakes (shaped like mickey's head), french toast, a scrambled eggs/bacon/home fries/muffin combo that was enough food to feed me! The prices were pretty low and they take the DDE card. I think for the 5 of us, it came to around $30 after the 20% discount Also one of the CM's there told us there is a DVC discount also. :)

The weather was pretty good. We had one full day of rain (Thursday) but it stopped while we were in Ohana eating dinner for our 5:00 ADR. We were worried it wouldn't stop because that's the night we did the Christmas party, but it did and the night became really nice. We just sat on plastic for the parade! It was hard to see all of the upper fireworks because it was cloudy, but everything else about the MVMCP was great. I think it rained one or two other times at night and was fine the next morning. We wore shorts and tee-shirts most days sometimes with sweatshirts, sometimes not. Some days were fairly warm-close to 80, but humid, so it felt hotter.

Great report. We'll be staying there for the first time in May and I can't wait!

Were you able to just walk in to Spoodles for breakfast or did you have an ADR? We're thinking of trying it for breakfast on our May trip and I'm wondering if there is a long wait for walk-ins for breakfast. Also, what time did you have breakfast there?

Thanks!

We made one ADR for 8:00 AM 90 days ahead and there were lots of empty tables at that time. One night during our stay we called dining at about 5:30 PM and asked for breakfast at 9:30 the next morning and got it no problem. It was slightly busier at that time, but still, no one was waiting for tables. I really think walk-ins would have been seated right away.

Thanks for the reply. It's hard enough trying to schedule all our evening meals months ahead so I was hoping we could "wing it" at breakfast. Sounds like we stand a good chance of getting into Spoodles for breakfast without too much advance planning. Thanks again.

For our Spoodles breakfast on thursday 12/8 - since it was raining and we were not going to the parks early. I called DD at about 7:30 am and we easily got an 8:50am for our party of 10.

Excellent! It's good to hear that I won't have to schedule absolutely every meal.
