There was a glitch in their online booking system. Several people were able to book stays. Disney than changed "Paid in Full" ressies to show a balance due so a lot of people cancelled.

It was a glitch in their system which they chose not to honor. There was a lot of controversy about this on these boards last year. Booking glitches happen all of the time. I remember a few years back when the Holiday Inn in DTD had a booking glitch on their site and you could book rooms for $.19
Holiday Inn honored those rates. Of course, the hotel was not repaired since the 2004 hurricanes, so they put people in other hotels. But they did honor the rates.

Anyway, I for one, am glad Disney honored at least 1 night of my stay. As you can see in my siggie, we go down there quite a lot and this just renews my faith in Disney. I prefer to think of it as part of their YOAMD promotion and I got a terrific rate on a suite and free tickets!!

Darlene I'm so glad you loved staying in the GS! I was hoping you'd post about it. Seeing your pictures makes me want to stay there again!

I'm pretty sure the patio and balcony suites are the same size, just a different configuration upstairs. I loved having the balcony and asked for one when we checked in for our wedding trip but none were available that time.

It was pretty stinky of them to change the other ressie. They wanted an additional $669 for 1 night. No way was I going to pay that. Heck, I couldn't even eat that much food in the CL!!!

It was a glitch with their online booking system. You could only book 1-night package with 1 ticket for each person in your party. This happened right at the beginning of the announcement of the "YOAMD". Everyone who booked this (and there were many) honestly thought that this was one of the "dreams" in the new promotion. I booked two nights and was in the process of booking my 3rd night when Disney shut the site down. Within about 5 days they had the infamous "Yolanda" or "Tess" calling to tell us they would not be honoring the bookings. Letters were sent to the FL Atty General's office and others, but to no avail. Then it was discovered that Disney monitors these boards so I don't like to say too much. I don't want them to realize I was able to take advantage of 1 night and now that they have my CC number put the additional charge on it!! The buggers!

If the search feature is working, you can try looking for the original postings from last September. The thread is locked now. It may even have been removed, I don't know.

Anyway, I'm glad they only changed 1 night and left my first night alone so I could experience this fabulous resort. I will definately be back, even if it's only in a standard room!! So Disney will make more money off of me, because I usually stay in Mods.

I have 8 nights in a 2-bedroom unit at SSR coming up in December and can't wait to experience that. All that room!

So hopefully next year I'll be able to squeeze in another trip and stay for more than 1 night at BWI!

I have a pic I took of the hotel rate and info thingy that they put on the door of each room. It showed stays thru 12/31/07 at $855 per night $25 for each additional adult after the first 2. So with 3 adults in the room, my suite should have gone for $880 plus tax.

We used the public code that was listed here! It took 3 times and it was the CM who suggested trying the suites.
