We stayed in a one bedroom, lake view. A couple of things off the bat. I can't believe I was sleeping in a DVC resort at the Contemporary. Do you remember all those years when Disney consistently denied DVC was coming to the area? Even after some builder from NY leaked the design on their website. It was cool seeing it and now staying there. Also, who would of thought DVC would build a one bedroom that slept 5 and had 2 bathrooms? After tighting up the units after OKW/Vero/HH, it seemed more room was only acheivable w/ a 2 bedroom (and more points). My two kids are getting older and enjoyed having their own "beds".

Here's some random thoughts:
Don't miss the fireworks on the 16th floor. It's a nice perk. We actually left MK one night around 9:30 and went to the top of BLT to watch it. That's pretty neat!!

I booked a lake view to save points and wasn't dissapointed.

The showerhead in the small bathroom is a killer. The spray is like little needles.

The slide is fun and seems real fast. A real winner.

I didn't know you check in at the main hotel. Did I know that?

The parking is very easy. I'm not sure I would valet if it was still free. Again, the self park is easy.

Of course the walk from MK is great, but take the monrail back (only one stop).

Make sure you keep your dashboard piece of paper that says you're staying at BLT, the security back into the MK area is tight late at night. No big issue, just a note.

The walkway is so cool and handy.

Overall, BLT is awesome and it's going to be tough going back to BWV next July.

Haven't done the walk from BLT to MK, will have to try that next trip.

Agree totally about the walkway over to the CR though. Watching the fireworks from there was kind of neat too - as we showed up to check in the first night, the fireworks were just starting as we walked over. We just stopped right there and watched.

We just got back less than 24 hrs ago from a 1BR as well (#7612).

I totally agree about the showerhead in the 2nd bathroom. I used it once & felt like a knife was slicing me!! DH couldn't believe that those haven't been replaced by now.

We also enjoyed the fireworks from the TOTWL...we were there on Tuesday evening.

Glad you had a great trip...so did we!!

nothing wrong with the showers. you control the pressure. just turn the pressure down. the diverter switch is also a flow control, push it all the way over to start the shower, then pull it back half way to turn the pressure down. i cant even imagine taking a shower with that thing all the way over, how would you have any skin left?

I'm a non-BLT owner who loved our stay there in January and hope to get in again at 7 months again, someday. I enjoyed reading your report!

I loved our stay in a 1 BR at BLT, wish we had a few more points there. Also, I always look forward to our trips to BWV. Being able to walk to three of the four parks makes me one very happy camper.

It is really nice being able to try out all the different resorts.

BLT is our second DVC home via a small add-on to our original SSR points. BLT is just terrific and we're having a hard time trying to convince ourselves to stay anywhere else. :earsboy:

Just now booked 1br lakeview for our Feb trip! Thanks for all the tips!!! How was your view? They didn't have MK view but I think I'll be ok with that. I am hoping this will entice DH to add on at BLT.

We just returned two days ago from 1BR Lakeview. Our view actually consisted of the lake to the right and MK to the left. Space Mountain was practically straight in front of us, with the castle to the left. Great!!

We are at our 60 day mark today :cool1: for our first stay in our new home @ BLT. So excited! Thanks for your review, and it was good to read the tip about the shower pressure.:worship: I was a little worried about that! My 9 year old grandson will be happy to hear about your review of the slide! May I ask if you got a verbal " Welcome Home" when you checked in? For some reason I am soo looking forward to hearing that. I figure for the amount we paid for points, I should get to here it, LOL! Also-did you go to the Contempo Cafe at all? If so, how did you like it? Glad you had a great trip!

Love hearing WELCOME HOME!!!!

Thanks for the review! We have a small add-on at BLT which will allow us to stay in a 1 bedroom every other year. We have our first stay there this September and I can't wait. So nice to hear you enjoyed your stay. Can't wait to see Wishes from our balcony and TOTW!

Or, watch Illuminations from your balcony and watch wishes from the tower. That's what we did. We could see Epcot from our room, so we watched the 9 o'clock fireworks at Epcot and then headed on upstairs for Wishes. Watching Wishes form BLT is awesome. Besides, you miss the crowds.

Well holy crap!! We stayed one night at BLT in May, and I'm fairly certain we didn't have any skin left because we didn't know about the flow control!!! :lmao: Well at least now we know for next time!

Can you hear the Wishes music from the walkway?
My first trip home to BLT is in May for our Vow Renewal. We are having the ceremony at the Swan and our dinner at Citricos. I would have liked to have viewed the fireworks from TOTW lounge but unfortuately, although the majority of my guests will be staying at BLT on points, 6 will be at my other home AKV. I don't think that they will be allowed to access TOTW lounge (right?) and obviously, we can't leave them out. So, I was thinking that we could either hang around the GF after dinner and watch the fireworks from there or monorail across to the walkway and watch from there. I assume with our key access my AKV guests will be allowed onto the walkway. What are your thoughts guys, please?
