We stayed at the AKL one night Wednesday, June 1st. Although we checked in at 3pm, we were approximately 10 mins from the time we entered the lobby until we were walking toward our room. I cannot say enough good things about this resort! Everything was immaculate and our room was wonderful. We had a standard savannah room. It was on the Zebra Trail. We were in the second section from the lobby on the second floor. I thought it was a great location. We had an awesome view of Arusha rock and the animals. We were also very close to the lobby, pool, and restaurants. I found the resort to be very quiet and restful. 
We moved to the YC Thursday, June 2nd. When we showed up to check in at 9am, we were surprised...our room was ready! And the best part is...we were upgraded!!!
Although I had booked a standard view room at an AP rate, we were moved to a room on the 4th floor directly overlooking the marina and the Boardwalk. I spent many hours on the balcony just relaxing and enjoying the view. Everything was just wonderful. Every CM we encountered was pleasant and went out of their way to help with any request. Our room was spotless, as was the entire resort. Our boys (12 and 16) spent some time at SAB, but DH and I spent our pool time at the quiet pool. Most of the time there was only 1 other family there. It was very quiet and relaxing compared to the chaos at SAB. Mousekeepers did an excellent job every day. We have no complaints about YC and would highly recommend it to anyone!! 
Out of the 2 resorts, we preferred YC. We would stay at both resorts again. You could not beat the cleanliness or friendliness of the CM's at both.
