DH and I celebrated our anniversary, without the kids, at Disney World! Here's where we ate:

Dec. 4: BOMA---Oh my gosh! This place is wonderful! DH was sceptical about an African menu, but once he arrived, he fell in love with it. Luckily we had a PS, because they were not accepting walk-ins. (DH finally saw the fruits of my obsessive planning!) Anyway, we adored the prime rib and nut crusted salmon. I loved the pap and butternut squash. DH ate two bowls of seafood gumbo and I had a corn chowder that was good, but had a funny nutmeg taste. Of course, we LOVED the desserts! The zebra domes were delicious, but we enjoyed the pineapple cheesecake the most. I really like the bite size portion of the desserts, because I wanted to sample them all. We will definitely eat at Boma again. They had the standard chicken finger, macaroni, and fries for kids, so next time I'll bring my children. A+++++++++++++++

Dec. 5: We were still stuffed from Boma, so we skipped breakfast and headed to AK. At about ten we had pretzels from a stand. We bought one of those jumbo refillable drinks with animal toppers(neat souvenier) and a cast member pointed out to us that the drink container is covered with hidden mickeys. Pretty cool!

At 12:30 we headed over to Rainforest Cafe. This has always been a family favorite. I had a vacation kingdom voucher; I had used one in Oct. and had no problems at all. We apparently had a new server, because he said he didn't know if we could use the voucher. I assured him that we had in the past, but to please go ask his manager. He did, and of course everything was fine. DH used the voucher and got calamari, stuffed lobster, and a chocolate cake for dessert. I got the appetizer of the crab dip for my main meal. The calamari and crab dip were delicious. DH liked the lobster, but I didn't think it was as good as it had been in the past. Anyway, eating there with vouchers is an exceptional deal, so I'm sure we'll eat there again. I enjoy the atmosphere, but we were so close to the front, I felt like all of the diners were staring at me! B-

We were so stuffed from our lunch that dinner consisted of spicy cheese pretzels at Tomorrowland(Lunching Pad???) in MK. They were very good. Of course, we also ate the MVMCP hot cocoa and cookie.

DEC. 6: We went to MGM for extra magic hour. After riding RNRR twice, we decided to try Starring Rolls Bakery for a light breakfast. I had a chocolate croissant and DH had a cherry danish. They were filling and cheap, and that's what we were aiming for. B

Lunch was a 12:15 PS at Sci-Fi. I know Sci-Fi always gets mixed reviews, but it is one of our family's must visits. Once again we had a voucher, but this time our server(Madge or Martha) was very, very knowledgeable. DH used the voucher to get onion rings as an appetizer(little greasy, but very yummy), steak sandwich(awesome---tender and on a thick portobello mushroom), and cheesecake(good) for dessert. I ordered a grown-up shake(had khalua) which I won't order again(8.95! and didn't even make me feel mellow!) and their delicious chili. Our server asked us why we were there and we offhandedly mentioned our anniversary. She asked us if we wanted her to annouce it(stand in the car and scream out our anniversary). We said no. A few minutes later she came back with a sci-fi frisbee and a happy anniversary certificate from the Sci-Fi. I didn't know they gave certificates. It was a really nice surprise. A++

For dinner, DH wanted to eat at the American counter service place in Epcot(right beside American Adventure). There were no empty tables, and a lady on one of those motorized scooters ran over my foot, trying to beat me to a table. Needless to say, I was in a foul mood and refused to eat there. DH had a bacon cheeseburger and fries. He said it was mediocre. C-(and an F--- to the lady on the scooter.) We went back to AllStar Movies and I got a very delicious cheeseburger and fries from the foodcourt. I've always been very pleased with AllStars' foodcourts. That cheeseburger really hit the spot. A+

The next day we headed for home and airport food(F-------------) I am currently experiencing Disney withdrawals........:earseek:

Wonderful report ~ Thanx for sharing.

Hi,

Thanks for sharing!!!!!!

I was hoping you could use the chef's appe. to "add" on to the voucher. at RFC.do you happen to know if you can use more than 1 SC gift cert or use them with the voucher as I have the joining and BD certs. I was going to use one for breakfast ( or 2 if possible) then figured one for another meal but am confused on what I can use what with ( evidently brain is blocking this out cause I keep thinking I have it right and find out I am wrong ..maybe I will copy it down if someone can tell me!)

When we stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge, we ate there, too. My husband said that they had the best coffee he had ever had. Do you know what the name of it is? I would like to get some for him for Christmas!!

We ate at Boma last week for the first time. Loved the squash and just about everything else as well. It was one of the best dinners we had. Even my son who doesnt usually eat much ate the prime rib and the chicken tenders and veggies!

The desserts were great. Zebra domes were not my favs but the pineapple cheesecake was. Loved that they were bite size. My son loved the chocolate chip cooke.

Would definitely do again!

I'm with you big jack 2002. I am also trying to find out about the coffee at Boma. When we were there we were told it was nescafe, but I can't beleive it is instant coffee. Does anyone know?

Celebrating your anniversary at WDW...how very sweet! Enjoyed your reviews!

Great reviews! Did you use a VKL voucher at Sci Fi? If so, did you think it was a good value for $30? We used several last year and have several for this trip but haven't tried Sci Fi yet! Thanks!
